The Palestinian Paralympic Committee-PPC, established in the year 1993, offers young people with disability from all areas of Palestine the opportunity to develop their living skills and sport abilities that they find meaningful for their lives. PPC was awarded a sub-grant from the European Commission through Mercy Corps to implement a 2 year program – Sports for Change:

Program Officer – Technical/Sport
Location :PPC Ramallah office
Duties / Responsibilities:-
-Organize and follow up on the capacity building trainings for sport clubs
-Help sport clubs’ members to develop their sport abilities (e.g., help them to get to know their ability level, type of sport, get started, needed training, and support their ongoing activities)
-Oversee sport clubs to ensure recruiting, training, and support of sport teams in accordance with
quality standards
-Provide training for new members with disability joining and trainers and coaches joining the sport clubs.
-Provide community outreach to involve a diverse group of young people with disability, rehabilitation professionals, sport leaders, and community leaders in the program.
-Manage contacts with stakeholders on the local level
-Promote PPC philosophy, goals, and results to organizations and other bodies that work for the disabled and those who are involved in sports
-Oversee the implementation of the advocacy activities on the local level and ensure participation of youth with disability and stakeholders.
-Coordinate with youth, sport clubs and stakeholder groups for monitoring and reporting on programmatic aspects of the program implementation
Desired skills and experience:
-Proven track record working with youth, in particular Youth With Disability.
-First Degree in physical education, preferably with courses on sport for the disabled.
-At least 3 years experience in sport and team building activities.
-Demonstrated ability to reach out to youth, parents, professionals, and community leaders.
-Interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities and a talent for making people feel welcome and included;
-A passion for learning and helping others to learn;
-Excellent organizational skills.
