Wattan is an award-winning, independent, professional media organization based in Ramallah, Palestine. It was established in 1996 by three civil society organizations. Over the past two decades, Wattan has established itself as an important voice of Palestinian citizens, civil society, marginalized communities and groups, women and, most significantly, youth. Our team of reporters, correspondents, and experts in the West Bank and Gaza provide wide ranging reporting and programming on issues of public concern including sensitive and controversial topics such as honour killing, public sector corruption and unemployment that are rarely covered by mainstream Palestinian media.

Programme Assistant (PA)
Job description

This position supports Programmes Unit by providing a variety of administrative, reporting, researching, fundraising and donor relations tasks. This includes assisting the programme manager, to whom this position reports.

Responsibilities
Support project development/fundraising as requested, in particular through conducting research, collecting data, and supporting programme design with partners and programme development team;
Produce projects reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis, as required;
External English communications relating to media projects, including but not limited to maintaining donors relations as appropriate;
Support development and implementation of a communications strategy;
Assist with proofreading, editing, and drafting of basic documents including info sheets, press releases and publications;
Undertake and complete research assignments, as requested

Qualifications and Experience

University degree in social science, media, international affairs or any related field. Master degree is preferable;
At least 3 years of similar experience in a recognized local or international NGO;
High level of English-language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing);
Arabic is a plus;
Good writing and reporting skills to a multitude of audience;
Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel);
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
