Position: Programme Assistant
Rehabilitation Programme
Placement: Jerusalem
Period: Initially until End December 2012 (possible renewal)
Work Percentage: 100%

Diakonia is seeking to appoint a Programme Assistant in its Palestine/Israel Country Office in Jerusalem for the Rehabilitation Programme.
Responsible to: Programme Manager – Rehabilitation Programme
Responsibilities:
Main Responsibility:
The Programme Assistant has the main responsibility to support the Program Manager in her general management of the rehabilitation programme offering necessary programme administrative and logistic support.
Detailed Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Programme Assistant will include:
1-Participate in internal and external meetings, take minutes and follow-up on issues raised in the meetings as needed.
2-Responsible for the filing of programme documents and keeping them in order.
3-Responsible to review and summarize and present in programme meetings all proposals submitted to the Rehabilitation Programme, also make necessary follow-up as required.
4-Support the programme to draft contracts as requested by programme manager.
5-Responsible to request from partners required documents as per signed contracts, follow up on projects and organize project plans and reports.
6-Draft correspondence and handle translation needs where related to programme, messages between organization donors and partners.
7-Conduct programme, administrative, secretarial and logistics support as requested by the programme manager.
8-Follow up on the rehabilitation project needs by the program manager: this is to keep in touch with the ongoing project activities and constantly update the Rehabilitation Programme Management on developments.
9-To handle RP projects assigned by the program manager. This implies the Assistant’s responsibility to call for and participate in meetings with partners, to obtain partners’ budgets and plans of action, to support team in drafting contracts, to monitor implementation and to obtain satisfactory reports during and at the end of projects.
10-To conduct any other tasks assigned by the Programme Manager.
Qualifications:
Required
-University degree in social science or business administration
-3 Year experience with EU projects and/or with International Non-Governmental Organizations.
-Has experience in Administration and Finance work
-Has experience in programme work.
-Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English skills. Hebrew is an asset
-Good computer skills.
-Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
-Holder of a Jerusalem ID
-Driving License
