Programme Communication Officer
One Gaza based
One Jerusalem based
We are looking for a Communication Officer to increase the impact of Oxfam’s programme through managing effective communications in the following ways: managing a strategy for communicating Oxfam’s programme; assisting in managing the delivery of communications for
internal and external audiences; working with other key stakeholders internally and externally to help communicate Oxfam’s programme work to a wide range of audiences. Both positions are for one year and based
one in Jerusalem and one in Gaza.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Experience
-At least two year’s work experience in an NGO, preferably in Media & Advocacy programmes.
-Good working knowledge of internal/external communication needs.
Core Competencies
- Open and inclusive about creative process; can run with other people’s ideas; willing to consult team members
-Manages own time and deals with some conflicting priorities without upward referral
- Able to meet internal/external communications needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Good client-handling skills: persuasive; making the client feel involved, and producing a satisfactory outcome.
- Written and verbal communications engender confidence from managers and staff across the organisation.
-Keeps up to date with internal or external activities, which may influence role.
-Regularly contributes useful ideas/suggestions to major projects within unit.
- Continually seeks out better ways of doing things.
- Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility in all aspects of working.
- Has a good knowledge of the work of department or unit and takes responsibility for expanding own knowledge.
- Influences decision-making on specific issues relating to routine projects and tasks
- Shares knowledge and improvements and may supervise the workflows of others
