SOS Children’s Villages Palestine is seeking to recruit a Programme Director for its SOS Children’s Village Programme Bethlehem.
Location: Bethlehem with travel to areas within the West Bank and Gaza Strip

Reports to: National Programme Development Director
Position summary
The SOS CV programme director leads the SOS Children’s Village Programme. He/she co-ordinates all programme interventions and is responsible and accountable for the overall development and management of the programme and its staff. He/she manages a co-ordinated approach to child & youth care, family & community development, education, health and advocacy within a given programme location. He/she is involved in the planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme interventions, He/she provides the leadership to ensure cooperation between all programme co-workers and the appropriate allocation of resources. He/she builds and maintains positive and strong relationships with the community, local authorities and a network of partner organisations.
Tasks & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead the management of the Bethlehem programme and strategic allocation of the programme resources,
Contribute to the implementation of the operational plans for the Bethlehem programme with full alignment with the National Team,
Represents SOS, in the field and elsewhere, including government officials and the media,
Promote an organizational culture of alignment across programmes and builds effective working relationships with SOS Gaza and the SOS Regional Office.
Managing the overall development of the Programme.
Guiding and supporting programme co-workers.
Promoting strong and long-term partnerships with local authorities, partner organisations and the community.
Contributing to the development of the National Association and the SOS Children’s Village Organisation.

Qualifications and Competencies
University degree in Social sciences, Masters in Management is desirable
Minimum 5 years' experience in child and family development programmes
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in management and leadership
Ability to access Gaza, foreign nationals desirable
Good command of spoken and written English with proven reporting and communication skills
Ability to comprehend and converse in Arabic
Good knowledge of standards and current directions of development in the field of child’s rights approach, and social welfare systems
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently
Motivation for work focused on children and families
