Programme Officer
Medical Aid for Palestinians MAP-UK, works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.
MAP is seeking two highly skilled staff to be hired and based at MAP’s Gaza office.
Programme Officer (Duration: 24 months)
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
-To support the development and implementation of MAP new projects in Gaza in accordance with MAP’s strategic priorities and in compliance with MAP systems and grant procedures, ensuring that it responds effectively to priority health needs in the geographical area of responsibility.
-Conduct and support needs assessments as may required.
-Work closely with MAP partners and MAP team in Gaza and the UK office to develop good quality projects proposals and log frames.
-To work closely with partner organizations to ensure proper project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting in order to facilitate effective management of all stages of the project cycle.
-To collaborate with the DoP, Gaza to support MAP’s fundraising and communication needs through the timely provision of reports and situation analysis.
-To support the DoP in the annual revision of MAP’s emergency preparedness and response programme in the Gaza Strip as well as the security plan.
-To represent MAP with local partners and externally as may be required.
-To provide input to the DoP to develop MAP’s annual operational plan for the Gaza Strip ensuring compliance with programming policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
-Bachelor degree in health related field;
-At least three years experience in project management and development;
-Very good skills in proposal writing;
-Good understanding of and sensitivity to the regional/local context;
-Excellent communication and inter personal skills;
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Arabic;
-Competent in basic IT skills;
-Organized self starter, able to work alone or as part of a team;
-Driving license and ability to travel in and outside Gaza.
Desirable:
-Master degree in Public health, health management, Development or any related field.
-Experience in working with INGOs.
