Programme Officer

DanChurchAid (DCA)/Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is looking for a committed and energetic person with experience in project management to fill a 6-month vacancy.

Major Responsibilities: Grant Management

You will be responsible for following local partners contracts: implementation of assessments, reporting on results, completing monitoring reports and budget reports. Your job is to make sure the contracts are in place, partners are meeting deadlines and reports are of highest quality, as per DCA policies and protocols (PPM).  You will ensure highest quality – no mistakes- before submission to back donors.

You are a quick learner and are not stressed by seemingly complex administrative systems whether they be OCHA or INGO databases.

You can conceptualize innovative project design AND you can also articulate those ideas in project documents, if new funding opportunities arise.

You have a keen interest to work intensely- at field level- with local partners to ensure their own grant management systems/understanding respond to donor requirements.  

You will work interactively in a small, tight-knit team of program, finance, procurement and logistics and accountability experts. The team dynamics reflect commitment to supporting local partners to deliver development and humanitarian results. While we work hard, we also play hard too. Come join us!

Job Requirements

We expect the following qualifications from you

  • Experience with humanitarian/development donors, including proposal development and grants management. Direct experience with UN, EU and Danish/Norwegian Government funding is a clear advantage
  • Ability to participate in proposal development and complete reporting processes, respecting inputs from multiple stakeholders
  • Skills in reporting and meeting deadlines- no mistakes.
  • Relevant education
  • Committed, flexible and result-oriented
  • Accountability and integrity
  • Fluency in English and Arabic necessary
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to build relations
