Job Description

Save the Children (SCI), active in the occupied Palestinian territory since 1997, works to ensure
children’s rights to education and protection. SCI’s vision is a world in which all children’s rights

have influence, a world where all children have hope and opportunity.

The East Jerusalem YMCA Rehabilitation Program (YMCA-RP) is a non-governmental, non-profit
organization established in 1989 and offers quality rehabilitative services to persons with disability
and those affected by political violence.

The project of “Post-trauma Rehabilitation of the Palestinian Ex-detainee Children in the West Bank”
is implemented by the East Jerusalem YMCA Rehabilitation Program in partnership with Save the
Children and is funded by the European Commission for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection.
(SCI) and (YMCA-RP) seek a Project Administrative Assistant for the programme of “Post-Trauma
Rehabilitation of Palestinian ex-detainee children in the West Bank”.

Job Title: Project administrative assistant
Project: Post-trauma Rehabilitation of Palestinian ex-detainee children
Location: West Bank
Contract: Six months with possibility for extension

Key Responsibilities:
The administrative assistant contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations of the
project office, and supports the work of the coordinator and other staff in the project.
-Provides administrative and secretarial support to the project coordinator as required.
-Provides assistance to the project staff as required.
-Develops, sets up, and documents project secretarial systems related to: filing of documents,
records management, communications (telephone, fax, and correspondence), supplies management, and basic office services.
-Provides support to the ongoing projects as required by supervisor.
-Helps in preparing materials for the report.
-Carries out other tasks and activities as required.

Qualifications:
-BA degree in Business Administration.
-At least one year experience in relevant work.
-Arabic is the mother tongue with excellent English reading and writing skills.
-Proficiency in the use of computer programs for Microsoft Office suite (word, outlook, excel), database management, and internet.
-Proficiency in the use of office equipment.
-Having excellent communication skills.
-Ability to work from Bethlehem area office.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
