In the context of German-Palestinian Technical Cooperation, GTZ has been commissioned by the

“Regional Social and Cultural Fund for Palestinian Refugees and Gaza“
To support the Program Team in the West Bank we are looking for a
Project Advisor
based at the German House for Development Cooperation in Al-Bireh,
Under the direction of the program manager the project advisor takes ownership of work-streams
within the joint initiatives with UNRWA and partners from civil society in the West Bank. The project
advisor closely co-operates with colleagues in Gaza and Jordan.
Responsibilities and tasks include but are not limited to:
-provide professional advice and input to, and to cooperate with, a broad range of local project
partners, in the area of project management, (psycho)-social support and cultural activities;
-independently manage local grants in the (psycho)-social and cultural field.
This entails to:
-identify and support partner organisations with regard to development and implementation of
project proposals and activities supported by the Regional S&C Fund
-elaborate policy recommendations and contribution to the development of a strategic regional
approach
-ensure efficient and timely delivery of ongoing project milestones;
-regularly report and document project progress and impact.
-support the program manager in management and administration.
Required qualifications:
-University degree in the fields of Psychology, Social or Political Science or another relevant field;
-At least 6 years of professional experience in working in a similar position;
-Good knowledge of civil society initiatives in the (psycho-)social and cultural field;
-Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written), knowledge of German would be an asset;
-Ability to work within interdisciplinary teams;
-Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communication skills;
-Computer literacy.
Assignment: Starting 1 August 2010
