POSITION TITLE: Project Assistant
MA’AN Development Center is an independent Palestinian development and training institution established in January, 1989, registered by law as a non-profit organization. The main office is located in Ramallah and the four branch offices are located in Gaza, KhanYounis, Tulkarem and Jenin. MA’AN's work is informed by the necessity of creating independent, self-reliant initiatives that lead to the development of human resources for sustainable development, which incorporate values of self-sufficiency and self-empowerment.
MA’AN Development Center is implementing a project entitled "Provision of Awareness Raising Discussion Groups on Gender Based Violence (GBV) Prevention". The project includes carrying out of gender based violence awareness raising discussion groups for 1,800 prep school students who are between 13 to 16 years old (50% girls and 50% boys). MA'AN is seeking qualified candidates for the following vacancy:
Position title: Project Assistant
Project Duration: 8 months
Tasks and responsibilities:
Overall management of the project field activities
Being a focal point with UNRWA Gender Initiative
Supervision of technical and field staff involved in the project.
Ensure all project activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to donor’s rules and regulations.
Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper activities implementation on the ground.
Prepare periodical reports as requested by MA'AN and donor in consultation with the Project Manager.
Assist the finance department in preparing periodic financial documents and reports
Facilitate the work of MA'AN Monitoring and Evaluating officer in the field
To document all activities of the project and maintain an efficient project filing system including all project related documents.
Communicating with colleagues based on teamwork spirit.
Directly Reporting to: Project Manager / Program Officer
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree from recognized university
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project management
Minimum 5 years of work experience with project funded by INGOs, UNRWA, or other UN agencies
5 years of work experience in the field of women empowerment and women rights
Good reporting and formal writing skills in both English & Arabic.
Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Good computer literacy.
Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
Ability to start working immediately.
