Location: Ramallah
Responsible to: Project Manager
Closing date: 25th March 2017
Duration: 30 Months (Part-time 50%)

THE JOB
Under the direct supervision of and the responsibility of the Project Manager, the Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the PM in the implementation, progress monitoring, and reporting of the project Fostering Inclusive Employment and promoting the advancement of equitable opportunities for Persons with Disabilities implemented by HI & partners organizations.
Main tasks will include:
Support to project activities Implementation
- Handle requests regarding project information and data
- Liaise with other stakeholders based on the needs of the project to facilitate the achievement objectives.
- Support the PM in mapping national or local employment forums and related events.
- Support the PM and the partner in the preparation and implementation of training for DPOs.
- Support the PM in DPO and employers grant management
- Support the PM in the employment study
Administrative, budget and logistics management
- Handle purchase of project materials in collaboration with the support services in WB.
- Handle logistics necessary for the facilitation of the delivery of project workshops, awareness raising sessions and trainings.
- Support preparation of HI and partners payment authorizations of the project.
- Compile monthly spending forecasts from PM and project team and review them with PM.
- Act as key support and contact between Project team members and support services.
- Follow up with Logistics Officer all project purchases and deliveries.
- Assist the PM in monitoring the project budget and follow-up the expenses by HI & partners.
Partner Follow up
- Support the PM to follow up on partners activities
- On monthly basis, review the partners financial documents in preparation for quarterly closures
Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting:
- Update and compile the project data bases of Gaza and West Bank on weekly and monthly basis.
- Track project deliverables using appropriate project tools
- Follow up and compile necessary data for monitoring of the project as advised by the PM
- Support project team to ensure that activities are implemented in accordance with project indicators defined
- Conduct regular field monitoring for project activities.
- Support PM in the co-ordination between all the projects internal and external interfaces.
- Compile statistical reports from the field on monthly basis, analyse and share with PM.
- Submit monthly project activity report (statistical and narrative) to the PM in respect to the project reporting validated formats, based on HI activity updates.
- Support the PM in collecting and compiling all data needed to draft donor reports (Quarterly Mid-term final report), and preparation of reports annexes.
- Participate in analysing lessons learned on the projects experience gained from implementation.
- Support in project evaluation as defined by PM.
Other duties
- Represent and defend project in clusters, forums, conferences, and prepare minutes as requested by PM.
- Ensure all project documents are filed in hard and soft copies on weekly basis
- Perform other duties / activities as requested by PM, FC and/or HOM.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
- Bachelor degree in economics, development and or business management.
- Good level of spoken and written English
- At least 2 years of experience in livelihoods
- Good computer skills and administrative skills
- Flexibility, ability to take initiative
- Good Organizational skills/ Proactive
- Excellent communication skills
- High Level Written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Good skills in organization, co-ordination and the transfer of knowledge are essential.
- The person must be able to work independently and without constant supervision.
- Ability to live and work in a difficult security context and in conditions of limited comfort and willingness to accept security protocols.
- Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.Motivation for promoting access to work for people with disability.
