Job Title:Project Coordinator (PC)

Starting date :July 1 2013
Project Duration: 3 years and a half 
Location:Ramallah based with frequent travel to Gaza.
Report to:Program Manager (PM)

Right to Play is a leading international humanitarian and developmental non-governmental organization  that uses the transformative power of Sport and Play to build essential skills in children’s life which drive social change in communities affected by war, poverty and disease and is currently implementing similar programs in Palestine. Purpose

RTP is looking for a Project Coordinator (PC) based in Ramallah. The PC is primarily responsible for the coordination of the project that RTP is implementing in PT under the guidance of the PM. This involves planning, managing, implementing and monitoring the project and its activities in order to achieve the set goals and objectives as effectively and efficiently as possible ensuring consistency with RTP’s strategy and commitments. The role includes supervision and providing support to the project field staff  based in Gaza.

Objective
Responsible for the appropriate implementation, monitoring, reporting of projects within the decided framework / project plan.
Liaison and working with partner(s) and relevant stakeholders.
Manage, support and coaches staff in their responsibility

Responsibilities

1-Supervision and support to  staff:
-Guides, coaches and monitors staff in the project.
-Conducts performance planning and appraisals with staff

2-Responsible for the appropriate implementation, financial follow up, monitoring, reporting of the project within the decided framework / project plan:
-Participate in developing annual work plans including activity plans
-Monitor the assigned budget and make sure that all administrative procedures are followed strictly and effectively with the support of PM and FO.
-Promotion of Sport for Development and Peace with local partners in the West Bank and Gaza.
-Coordinate and implement an assessment to identify locations, communities and beneficiaries where needed for our projects, including setting a baseline as part of this assessment.
-Monitor project progress according to set time and activity planning and adjusts where necessary in consultation with PM.
-Coordinate with the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to  collect all monitoring data and assist in its processing
-Write reports in English and Arabic as per requirements.
-Monitor activities and practices are in line with RTP’s Child Protection policy.

 
3-Liaison and coordination:

-Liaise with government institutions, relevant stakeholders, communities and (I)NGOs where necessary, including a clear understanding of the project.
-Any other duties assigned by the PM in her / his line of responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

-At least university BA degree in  a relevant field (such as social science, development studies, human rights or any related field).
-At least 3 years experience of program and project coordination, preferably in the field of youth, Children, women and psychosocial programming.
-Commitment to a community-led process of development.
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Experience in advocacy and communication campaigns.
-Solid team player, creative, motivated, and strong social and communicative skills for coaching of staff, networking and frequent internal and external contacts.
-Ability to establish effective and working relations with local partners and communities.
-Good planning and organizational skills.
-Good analytical and reporting skills.
-Experience in working with or interacting with youth, children and young people, and a proven track record of upholding child safety practices.
-Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Ability  to move between project sights (West Bank and Gaza).
-Driving licence is an asset.
