BACKGROUND
The Deprived Families Economic Empowerment Program (DEEP) is a national poverty alleviation program that was piloted in 2007. Currently, DEEP is implemented as a second phase with up-scaled intervention in the West Bank including East Jerusalem, and Gaza.
DEEP is implemented by UNDP in partnership with Ministry of Social Affairs through sub-granting local NGO’s, with the funding of the Islamic Development Bank.
JOB SUMMARY
The project coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the project activities set in the approved action plan. Under the direct supervision of (the Woman Center Administration), the Project Coordinator will carry out all planned activities in an effective and timely manner. She/ he will supervise the field workers working for this project. In addition to that, she/ he will ensure that the project implementation is according to the milestones set in the approved action plan and required quality criteria.Such that, she/ he will participate in analysis of the families.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee and manage day to day implementation of project activities in close collaboration with the project staff, as per set in the action plan
Liaise with UNDP-DEEP staff and MoSA staff on coordination and execution of activities.
Prepare periodic narrative and analytical reports on the project activities and progress.
Manage the processes related to the assessment, planning, implementation, and follow up income generating activities.
Contribute to writing success stories, press releases, and other documents, as required.
Organize for and participate in workshops and meetings, prepare minutes and reports accordingly, and follow up results with all concerned parties.
Provide the field workers with advice/ feedback once needed
Contribute to the planning, preparations, and undertaking of various procurement activities. [where relevant]
Perform quality assurance field visits for the targeted families, verifying the collected and computerized data among beneficiaries of the program through an ongoing follow-up basis with appropriateness.
Ensure efficient internal monitoring of the project, and compliance with funder’s requirements.
Collect and maintain accurate and up-to-date information on all activities and results.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Bachelor Degree in social science, or any related field.
At least 3 years of proven experience in managing/ coordination of projects, preferably related to income generating activities for poor families.
Understanding of key issues and challenges shaping current circumstances of poor and deprived families in Palestine.
Ability to contribute to analysis and development of Micro-income generating projects.
High skills to access to related information
Familiarity with the Socio Economic situation in the targeted communities
Excellent communication skill, with proven writing skills in English & Arabic.
High planning & organizational skills and proper team management
Proficiency in Microsoft Application (Work, Excel, Power Point,….)
Ability to handle multi-tasks in a fast paced environment.
Valid Driving License
Jerusalem ID required
