Project Coordinator
The youth Development Department (YDD) since it’s establishment in June 2000 works on supporting and strengthening the Palestinian youth institutions in Jerusalem, and emphasizes the important role of youth for the development and future of the Jerusalem Governorate. YDD’s Mission is working to empower and develop the capacity and skills of the young Palestinian specially the Jerusalemite one and their families and youth organizations working with them to improve their lives according to their needs and the national plan for the youth in the highest level of quality.
The Youth Development Department “YDD “is seeking a visionary ,dynamic and motivated candidates to join its team in implementing leading and managing the EU Funded Youth Healthy Development Program intends to develop a comprehensive intervention targeting adolescents and youth at risk of maladaptive behaviours offering them healthier and stimulating environment, providing recreational, sport and life skills activities that will build their self-confidence and direct them into positive behaviours. This will be addressed by envisaging a direct involvement and support of families and caregivers who will be educated on how to identify and deal with adolescents and youth at risk helping them to avoid dangerous behaviours, lead healthy and drug free lives and feel they can positively influence the development of their communities, while strengthening the capacities of youth serving institutions and organisations.
Project coordinator : Position Overview : Ref : ( YDD - 9/1/13)
This position reports to the Director of the YDD.
Duties:
-Formulating and implementation of plans and will be responsible over managing and utilizing resources in supporting the project, also leading the planning and implementation of activities.
-Arrange all aspects of field work.
-Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, deliverables, project tasks, resource requirements and schedule project timelines.
-Develops full scale project plans and maintains a detailed project schedule which includes tasks and involvements in the project.
-Constantly monitor and report the progress of the project to all stakeholders defining problems and solutions.
-Participate in evaluations and assessment of results and ensure adherence to deadlines.
-Perform regular field visits,verifying the collecteddata through the program with an appropriate on-going follow-up.
-Assist in analysing and explaining success and/or failure, plus identifyingunintended positive or negative effects/observations for the collected field data.
-Prepare and ensuretimely input reporting, as required (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly).
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Management and/or equivalent work experience, with preferably an average of four years of experience in related field dealing with issues affecting adolescents and socioeconomic issues in Jerusalem in addition to.
-Enthusiastic and eager to work, learn and grow with YDD.
-Ability to multi task and manage multiple supervisors/projects.
-Experience in people management, strategic planning and risk management.
-Ability to multi-task, learn and adapt quickly.
-Comprehensive understanding ofthe adolescent’s context in the area.
-Plan project activities in order to accomplish its goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
-Evaluate, assess and make proper referrals.
-Organization and interpersonal skills a must.
-Documented knowledge of both practical and theoretical aspects of project management techniques and tools.
-Be computer literate, have good knowledge of database management and word processing.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Arabic, and the ability to present coherent, well-structured analysis and articulation in both languages.
-Neutrality and Impartiality absolutelyrequired.
-Very goodorganizational skills, and ability to analyse, utilize and implement work-plans.
-Problems solving ability, especially at the field.
-Ability to work ina multicultural environment – ability to work independently.
-A Jerusalemite driving license a must.
