Purpose of the function
In the framework of Al Hoash’s strategy to preserve and promote visual art in Jerusalem, the Project Coordinator will specifically ensure efficient coordination and facilitation of the implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of project activities and will contribute to the implementation of Al Hoash activities in close co-operation with other staff members and partner organization.
The coordinator will be responsible for several interdisciplinary projects supported by the European Union, the Swiss Cooperation Office, the Danish Centre for Culture and Development (CKU), and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, amongst others.
The Program Coordinator will report directly to Al Hoash Director.
Responsibilities:
-Manage and coordinate 3 externally funded projects in East Jerusalem working closely with assigned to the project;
-Attend program technical meetings with implementing partners and related stakeholders;
-Provide input as required for the implementation of the project;
-Ensure that narrative and other requirements relating to contract management are met in line with donor agreements and procedures. In specific, you are responsible to compile and edit quarterly, semi-annual, and annual narrative reporting to the back-donor together with relevant staff;
-Monitor budget expenditures;
-Support team members in the planning and implementation of public events including galleries, auctions, and other activities;
-Maintain a sound relationship with the donor at operational level;
-Consolidate documentation of knowledge & information generated throughout the project to strengthen the effectiveness and implementation of the project especially lessons learned;
-Support the director in fundraising efforts, and drafting of proposals;
-Attending steering committee meetings and strategic meetings with partners, writing meeting minutes, and contributing to drafting strategies;
-Provide feedback and editing of written material for publishing;
-Facilitation of workshops and brainstorming sessions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
-Completed an academic degree in Social Sciences, Arts, Communications, Business, or relevant degree;
-Demonstrated several years of relevant working experience in similar positions in the OPT;
-Knowledgeable about the key issues in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and East Jerusalem in specific;
-Proven experience with EU contract management;
-A good understanding and experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning to support in program development, project implementation and impact measurement;
-Analytical thinking skills and abilities to influence others;
-Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
-Excellent social skills and demonstrated ability to be a team player;
-Excellent written and verbal skills in English and Arabic.
