Empowering Palestinian Human Rights Defenders Project (EU)
MUSAWA - The Palestinian Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession is a non-profit and independent Palestinian body specialized in monitoring the performance of the justice system, working in strategic partnership with others, contributing to the establishment of a modern legal and judicial system built on legal foundations, and community monitoring of the performance of the justice pillars in a courageous, transparent, and professional manner, and in accordance with a set of values and good governance principles.
MUSAWA is looking for potential candidates to fill the following position:
Job Title: Project Coordinator for the “Empowering Palestinian Human Rights Defenders” project, supported by the European Union.
Location: Ramallah.
Duration: September 2016 – February 2017.
Qualifications:
-University degree in Social Sciences, Law (preferably in Human Rights) or any other related field.
-2-4 years of work experience in a similar field.
-Fluent in English and Arabic- speaking, writing, and understanding.
-Ability to provide well-written analytical reports.
-Proven experience in Project Management.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Ability to meet deadlines and to work within a team.
-Knowledge of Human Rights and good governance is an asset.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Conduct regular field visits, monitor and keep track of field activities.
-Meet work standards by following productivity and quality standards, identifying work process improvement and resolve operational problems.
-Collect project data and information to assess project progress and to ensure alignment with project objectives.
-Check financial reports received from field coordinators after each activity and submit to the Financial Manager.
-Check narrative reports received from field coordinators and submit to the Media & Translation Officer.
-Prepare and submit bi-weekly and yearly narrative reports for internal documentation.
-Responsible for all communication with the European Union regarding technical issues.
-Responsible for ensuring that all activities are in accordance with MUSAWA’s contract with the European Union.
-Write the project's annual narrative report according to UN format.
