Job Description

Defense for Children International - Palestine seeks a project coordinator, critical thinker, networker, and public speaker with a strong understanding of the region and a demonstrated interest in promoting children’s rights.

The selected individual will oversee, implement, and report on projects in Jerusalem and central West Bank areas, with a focus on working with children in the Palestinian Children’s Council and child-led protection teams.

This full-time position (40 hours / week), based in the West Bank city of Ramallah, offers a competitive local salary commensurate with experience. Hours are flexible but involve some evenings. The position reports to the Protection Program Director and Community Mobilization Unit Coordinator.

Responsibilities

–Plan, implement, and report, with focus on donor requirements, awareness raising and child participation projects in Jerusalem and the central West Bank areas.
–Implement administrative, budgetary, and logistical tasks related to project activities.
–Provide strategic vision for project growth and development.
–Develop relationships and partnerships with local NGOs and influencers, specifically in Jerusalem, relevant to children’s rights.
–Lead workshops and training sessions for a variety of stakeholders and age groups.
–Encourage and support child participation in project activities.
–Publicly represent DCIP at various events and functions.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

–Bachelor’s degree in international relations, journalism, law, social sciences, or related studies is required. Master’s degree a plus.
–Proficiency in Arabic and English.
–At least three years of professional work experience, particularly on topics of Middle East, human rights, and children.
–Track record of developing and implementing effective youth-focused projects.
–Excellent reporting skills with an eye toward donor requirements.
–Strong ability to perform budgetary and administrative tasks.
–Established network of Jerusalem-based organizations and influencers.
–Experience leading workshops and training sessions for a variety of stakeholders and age groups.
–Strong critical analysis, communication, interpersonal and deadline management skills.
–Must possess Jerusalem identity card.
