Job Description
Welfare Association (WA) is a private, non profit foundation established in 1983 to support Palestinian society in sustainable development and humanitarian assistance. As a leading non-governmental Palestinian organization, WA is dedicated to providing appropriate services to the Palestinian people, responding to the needs and challenges faced by Palestinian communities. In particular, in the Gaza Strip, WA is carrying out program based projects to strengthen the services provided by NGOs to the community at large. Within this context, WA wishes to hire Program Coordinator to work in as follows:

Job Description
Department : Program Operations’ Department
Job Title: Project Coordinator
Location: Gaza
Reports To: Gaza Area Manager
Purpose of Position: Assist in management of the “Gaza” program and its projects of relevance

Responsibilities & Duties.
In accordance with established WA policies & regulations:
Program Inception and Development
1-Participate in preparing detailed action plan of “Gaza” Program and its projects.
2-Participate in preparing strategies & policies of the “Gaza” program.
3-Establish relations and network with partners and beneficiaries.

Management responsibilities
1-Coordinate with Area Manager to ensure meeting the objectives of the program.
2-Lead the budget preparation and control expenditures for the projects under implementation.
3-Supervise and facilitate the implementation of needed logistics for visits, travel, etc... .
4-Maintain excellent relations with stakeholders internally and with partners.
5-Support the fundraising, media and communication efforts.

Technical Responsibilities
1-Prepare the Request for Applications (RFAs) in coordination with Area Manager.
2-Assist in the screening applications.
3-Provide recommendations on grantees and draft relevant reports.
4-Prepare grant implementation agreements (GIAs) and negotiate relevant action plans with the beneficiaries.
5-Lead the establishment of all needed technical committees.
6-Supervise program and projects implementation through:
-Maintaining regular contact with beneficiary organizations and conduct regular field visits to program sites in Gaza Strip.
-Soliciting and review technical and financial reports from beneficiaries and following up on issues needing further clarifications or additional supporting documents.
-Monitoring the implementation progress to ensure the achievement of program / project deliverables on time and at quality.
-Ensuring proper program and project closure including the design and implementation of internal and external program evaluations.

7-Participate in conducting periodic formative and summative evaluations of the program. .
8-Document success stories.
9-Participate in preparing and submitting periodic reports on “Gaza” program and contribute to WA publications of relevance.
10-Assist in organizing needed workshops, seminars & conferences.

Managerial and Professional Qualifications:
-A university degree in Social Sciences, Management or related fields.
-At least (3) Years of sound experience in related fields.
-Strong Project Management skills and experience including planning, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, and time management.
-Ability to work within and contribute to a team and to produce results under pressure and tight deadlines.
-Fluency in Arabic and English languages, reading & writing.
-Good public relations and communication skills including coordinating networks between institutions of relevance.
-Good command of computer applications.
