Tertiary Education Project
The Ministry of Education & Higher Education (MOEHE) has received a grant from the World Bank,
International Development Association towards the cost of Tertiary Education Project. The projects
aims to (i) improve the policy making environment for tertiary education management, governance
and quality assurance; (ii) increase internal and external efficiency of tertiary education institutions
as a first step towards achieving sustainability; and (iii) create incentives and provide the basis for
improvements in quality, relevance and equity of tertiary education institutions in order to meet the
socio-economic needs of the Palestinian population.
The Ministry announces the following vacancy, to be financed as part of the project:
Position: Project Coordinator at AQAC, Full–time contract for nine months
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1)Follow up and coordinate the activities of the three programs to be evaluated (Science programs, Humanities programs and Schools of Business) to make sure that the evaluation process shall be completed on time and as scheduled.
2)Coordinate and participate in the meetings between the consultants/evaluators and TEI’s as well as between the national and international evaluators for each program and as needed.
3)Participate in and arrange all site visits to TEIs for each program.
4)Coordinate and facilitate conducting Three Workshops (first workshop: orientation for TEIs to prepare the self assessment report, second workshop: orientation for evaluators, third
workshop: final dissemination) under each program
5)Review the self evaluation report submitted by TEIs and disseminate them to the national and international evaluation team for each program.
6)Review the reports submitted by the consultants, and ensure providing the AQAC and TEIs feedback on time.
7)Preparation and submission of monthly progress reports.
Minimum Required Qualifications
1)At least master degree in Science, business or any other related field;
2)Minimum 5 years relevant work experience;
3)Demonstrated relevant experience of having worked in the tertiary education system;
4)Excellent reporting, coordination, managerial, problem solving skills;
5)Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Arabic and English.
Place of Work:
The post shall be based within the AQAC at MOEHE headquarters in Ramallah –Al Ma’ahed Street, with regular travel to all Tertiary Education Institutions.
