Project Coordinator/ Animal Production

Job Description

General Duties:

  • Conduct need assessment, and survey to select project beneficiaries
  • Follow up on daily basis fieldwork of all project activities including tasks assigned to suppliers and contractors, ensure meeting standards and specifications, sign on handing over, and work reports.
  • Periodical field visits to beneficiary farmers to give them advice on livestock husbandry.
  • Deliver training to livestock farmers in technical subjects
  • Coordinate training events
  • Submit monthly progress reports identifying achievements and lessons learned
  • Help the agricultural program team in their duties related in emergency and food security activities.
  • Follow up on all aspects of contract administration with the contractors.

Job Requirements

Competencies:

  • Sc. degree in animal production from a Faculty of Agriculture
  • Good experience in developmental project management
  • Good experience in farm animal husbandry practices
  • Strong communications skills in English and Arabic
  • Three to five years of experience in supervising similar projects.
  • Experience in agricultural extension and working with farmer groups, preferably within an NGO environment.
  • Strong personality, communication skills and team work
  • Good reporting skills
  • Assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work.
  • Valid driving license.
