Palestinian Organization for Development (POD) is a non-governmental, non-profit and independent Organization, founded in Middle governorate - Gaza Strip in 2000. POD works toward social-economic development to perform positive changes in the human life.
Project Overview:
In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), POD is implementing a project that provides rapid and responsive multi-purpose cash, food assistance, shelter and settlements (S&S), water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and protection support to conflict-affected communities in Gaza. The project’s goal is to ensure that conflict-affected households in Gaza meet their immediate needs and strengthen their capacity to shocks. Given the rapidly evolving emergency and changing security environment, a flexible approach is envisioned to be continually adapted in response to field conditions. The project’s objectives are:
- Conflict-affected households meet their basic needs, including food.
- Conflict-affected households live in safe and dignified shelters with access to WASH services.
- Conflict-affected households have improved wellbeing through psychosocial support activities.
POD is looking for candidates for the following position - Project Coordinator (PC)
Title: Project Coordinator (PC) - Full-Time.
Duration: 11 months
Targeted Area: Middle Area, currently at Deir Al-Balah and subject to change within the Middle Area per the changed security context
Reports to: Project Manager.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Supervise and follow up the implementation of project activities according to the DIP.
- Hold regular meetings with the team to plan, evaluate, and improve activities and performance.
- Ensure all program activities are implemented in a timely manner and according to donor’s rules and regulations.
- Participate in preparing the detailed implementation plan (DIP) of project activities.
- Develop project-related action plans in consultation with the team and regularly updating them to align with field requirements.
- Document challenges and lessons learned in real-time and partnering with the team and management to find solutions.
- Communicate with other partner institutions and seeking to enhance cooperation among partners to achieve project goals effectively and efficiently.
- Implement regular self-care activities to ensure the mental and physical safety of the team.
- Develop and continuously updating databases for participating children in accordance with implemented activities.
- Plan and conduct regular field visits to ensure proper activities implementation on the ground.
- Monitor financial orders in coordination with the accountant regarding procurement and supplies.
- Participate in budget planning for the project.
- Conduct capacity-building sessions with the team, developing individual plans for each employee, and monitoring their progress.
- Evaluate team performance using a developed and worked-on evaluation model.
- Participate in regular meetings with Catholic Relief Services to discuss project developments and challenges.
- Archive all project-related documents.
- Monitor the implementation of safeguarding and protection policies and adhering to the code of conduct with the team.
- Work with supervisees in creating performance development plans and provide support to achieve their performance objectives.
- Assist the Executive Manager in monitoring and evaluating the program by reporting to donor on the program outputs and outcomes.
- Perform any other related tasks required by Executive Manager.

Qualifications:
- University bachelor’s degree in business administration, sociology, or related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in project management, preferably with NGO's in managing protection projects.
- Good writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop progress reports.
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel and E-mail).
- Demonstrated strengths in relationship management; able to work with diverse groups of people in multicultural, team-oriented environment.
- Understands and works with local contexts (operational and cultural).
