Project Engineer

Islamic Relief (IR) is a humanitarian NGO working in Palestine since 1998. Islamic Relief helps the needy people without regard to creed, race, gender, or ethnicity. It works on achieving economic and social welfare through its joint development and emergency programmes with the local community. Islamic Relief announces the following vacancy for its office in Gaza.

Title: Project Engineer.
Ref: D-04-2010
Location: Gaza Office
Duration: 11 months - (full time)

Overall Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Development projects Manager, the Project Engineer is to be responsible for the overall implementation of the project in Gaza, coordinate with relevant institutions, provide direction and management for implementing work plans, keep record of all project documents, and prepare quarterly progress reports.

Candidates must possess the following competencies:
-University degree in Civil Engineering.
-Seven years of related experience as projects engineer, preferably in Schools construction or rehabilitation project, and preferably at International NGOs.
-Good knowledge of project management theory, principles and practices.
- A proven record of effective management
-Excellent report writing skills.
-Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet
-Interpersonal skills and good communication skills.
-Fluency in English (written and spoken)
