THE JOB
Courtesy of its Explosive Remnant Weapon’s (EWR) project titled Reduction of risks related to explosive remnants of war (ERW) in targeted areas of the Gaza Strip funded by MOFA LUX, HI seeks to recruit a Project Manager seeking to manage its implementation
THE PROJECT
The main objective of the project is to contribute to the reduction of the threat posed by ERW to the population living in contaminated areas of the Gaza Strip.
EXPECTED RESULTS
-The capacities of the target groups to prevent the risks posed by ERW is increased.
-The safety of teachers and pupils is increased through tailored school risk education sessions.
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Under the line management of the Field Coordinator and in support of the Project team, the Project Manager will oversee the overall quality management and implementation of all project related activities

Line manager: Field Coordinator
Line manager+1: Head of mission
Supervision:
-Team Leader
-RE Training Officer
-RE Community Liaison Agent
-Project Assistant
FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Rehabilitation Projects Co-ordinator, Project Managers for PEER project, Inclusive Education, and Support Services, Head of Mission
External: Project Beneficiaries and Humanitarian and Development Actors
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibility 1: Overall Project management and implementation
-Define and formalize project methodologies, work-plan and monitoring plan
-Prepare Budget plans and forecasts as well as financial reports related to the project
-Ensure follow up of operational lines’ consumption
-Ensure the project staff comply with financial and administrative procedures
-Ensure activities are Implemented in order to achieve the expected results
-Follow up qualitative and quantitative indicators (working closely with the Team leader/database officer)
-He/she adjusts the project methodologies to ensure their relevancy and adequacy to the evolving context
-Prepare all purchase requests for consumables and liaise with support services to ensure timely purchases
Responsibility 2: Team Management
-Ensure and co-ordination within the team (intra-team management) and with other HI project teams (inter team-management)
-Ensure conflict resolution within team and informs line manager
-Prepare and condcut periodical appraisals for project staff
-Ensure that all appraisal documents are made available to the project team before appraisal and that completed and validated documents, including individual objectives, are communicated on time to human resource department
-Ensure that operational, administrative & logictics procedures are respected by project staff
-Follow up on staff leave in collaboration with human resource department
Responsibility 3: Monitoring and Reporting
-Ensure the alignment of developed data collection tools to documentation of indicators and measurement of progress made
-Collect data as per the framework defined by the Field Coordinator and contribute to its analysis
-Use data from the project data bases upon request for reporting purposes
-Prepare and file copies of all project reports to donors and contracts financed under the project
-Conduct and produce minutes of team meetings
-Support organization of field visits related to project monitoring
-Give feedback to the Field Co-ordinator about any security or other issues that may affect the work of the team in particular and HI in general
-Prepare in collaboration with the team the list of all documents/tools produced under the project, update them and File one copy (hard and soft) of all final documents/tools produced under the project.
-Support the organization of project visits from HQ and/or the Regional office
DURATION OF CONTRACT:
-The duration of contract is initially for 5 months , full time position ; expected starting date :March 2016
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
Will have
-Degree (Masters Preferred) in Development studies or Social fields (Sociology, Social Sciences, protection)
-excellent in oral and written English is mandatory
-At least 3 years’ experience in project management with INGOs preferably in oPT
-Experience on projects related to advocacy on disability issues preferably in emergency context
-Strong communication and reporting skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
-Ability to work under pressure
