Project Manager
World Vision is an international Christian humanitarian aid agency working with the most marginalized and poor communities of the world.
Background
This position is located in World Vision JWG Gaza Office with responsibility for managing an Australian Government funded project - AMENCA III – which aims to see ‘Farming communities participating more effectively in markets in Gaza’. The project will work in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, East Khan Younis, East Rafah across 15 communities targeting approximately 11815 direct beneficiaries. Duration of the project: 3 years. Project Manager - Gaza
The successful candidate will:
Provide managerial guidance and support to the project team including, market specialists, agriculture specialist, community organizers
Create and submit project reports as required
Develop project internal implementation plans and tracking tools for each component of the project
Ensure that monitoring and information management tools are up to date and contain all relevant information
Maintain responsibility for accurate up to date financial management including budget reviews and monthly financial reports
Build capacity of other staff members as representatives of the project
Maintain excellent working relations with partners and other suppliers/contractors
Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications/Requirements
-Bachelor Degree in a social science, business or a related area . Masters degree is an advantage.
-Minimum of 5 years proven experience in managing projects
-Substantial project management experience with agricultural production and markets, preferably in the area of value chains
-Strong budgetary and financial management skills
-Good understanding of M&E and theory
-Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic
-Ability to work within and meet donor deadlines and reporting requirements (e.g semi-annual report and annual)
-Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and detail orientation
-Thorough knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes
-Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
-Ability to maintain performance and exemplary lifestyle expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
-Training and experience in capacity building
-Valid driving license
-Integrity and strong identification with WV Core Values
