DanChurchAid’s Regional Office in the Middle East is looking for the position:
Project Manager

Your tasks:
Within the contractual obligations and guidelines of EuropeAid, DG ECHO and other international donors, to secure fulfilment of all the phases of the project cycle in the Palestinian Territories.
-Report directly to DCA Regional Representative for the Middle East concerning all work actions
-Detailed development, planning, preparation and follow up of project action plans (according to the signed contracts with EuropeAid & DG ECHO) in mutual cooperation with project actors.
-Coordination and management of all project activities according to action plans, budgets and de-veloped management structures.
-Ensure compliance with EuropeAid/DG ECHO/international donor requirements concerning visi-bility for projects according to donor contracts
-Liaise with the European Commission Technical Office (ECTAO) and DG ECHO in Jerusalem on project related matters and coordinate with DCA GFU Middle East responsible Programme Officer
-Overview/monitoring of the procurement with support of DCA Palestine staff – HQ based and partners’ procurement.
-Coordination in OPT (West Bank and Gaza) between/among the project components/stakeholders.
-Regular monitoring (desk studies and visits to the partners as well as involved institutions) meet-ings to be undertaken with partners and other stakeholders as needed.
-Ensure narrative reports from all project stakeholders prepared on time in line with Logical Framework Approach (LFA) and submitted according to EuropeAid and ECHO requirements; check coherence to financial reports and then forward to DCA Copenhagen.
-Ensure and check financial status and external audited financial reports from all project stake-holders in due time, and then forward to DCA Regional Representative for the Middle East.
-In coordination with DCA Palestine staff, request instalments from Middle East Group in DCA HQ.
-Overview of all project expenditures in cooperation with the relevant DCA Palestine/HQ actors
-In cooperation with the Programme Officer in Copenhagen and Palestine ensure that the pro-gramme stakeholders know and use the potential donor and DCA standards for finan-cial/procurement management.
-Take part in EuropeAid sponsored meetings as needed; take part in DG ECHO Sector reviews and all other meetings related to the work of DG ECHO in the OPT; coordinate DCA engagement and submission of project information to the UN Consolidated Appeal Process (CAP); Take part in meetings associated with AIDA, UN Gender Working Group, EWASH and/or Agriculture Work-ing Group Sectors.

We expect the following qualifications from you:
-Cooperative, taking initiative and committed, being able to handle and feel comfortable working cross-cutting with several tasks and several groups in DCA.
-Working on time sensitive, systematic, result-oriented projects and with a large sense of order.
-Fluency in English necessary. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
-Knowledge of budgeting and monitoring of budgets helpful.
-Knowledge of DCA projects, partners and development and relief strategies is an advantage 
-Relevant education and experience from a similar position. 
-Computer literate. Familiar with use of Excel, Word, PS PowerPoint, and Email programs, etc.
