Position Title: Project Manager, Rehabilitation Program
Placement: Gaza
Period: Initially until End December 2012
Work Percentage: 50% (Part Time)

Diakonia is seeking to appoint a Project Manager in the Gaza Strip, who will oversee the Diakonia/NAD Rehabilitation Program in Gaza, according to the following terms of reference:

Responsible to: Program Manager – Rehabilitation Program

Responsibilities:
Main Responsibility:
The Project Manager has the main responsibility to support the Program Manager in the planning, organization, coordination, monitoring, evaluation and the reporting of the Rehabilitation Program in Gaza Strip. The Project Manager will be fully responsible for projects which are delegated to him/
her by the Program manager.

Detailed Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Gaza Project Manager will include but are not limited to:

1-Lead partner meetings when delegated by the Program Manager and be responsible to achieve specific goals set out for those meetings.
2-Assume full responsibility for the Community Based Rehabilitation “CBR” partner projects as delegated by the Program Manager.
3-Conduct field visits to the partner projects for monitoring purposes as well as accompany delegations or information and media persons who visit the program.
4-Review partner plans, budgets, financial and narrative reports critically and bring to the attention of the Program Manager’s constructive recommendations for future action.
5-Plan for, organize, follow up and document program activities including workshops, conferences and trainings for partners.
6-Represent the program in partner activities as delegated by the Program Manager.
7-Write narrative and financial reports and information and communication needs.
8-Follow up logistical needs of the program when needed.
9-Any other tasks delegated by the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
Required

-University degree in social science, business, rehabilitation, or special education.
-Seven years of working experience in development work and project management at an international organization.
-Good knowledge and experience of Gaza and the health/rehabilitation sectors.
-Expertise and good knowledge of appropriate tools in project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
-Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English skills
-Good computer skills.
-Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
-Experience in human rights work, democracy and gender is an asset
-Genuine interest in providing support to partners in the areas of capacity building and program development.
