Overview

Wefaq is an independent and non-profit Palestinian NGO with the purpose of protecting and empowering vulnerable women and children including those with disabilities survivors of GBV through women protection and empowerment, child and family protection program, and communication and advocacy program. While implementing its strategy to fulfil its vision, Wefaq is guided by international human rights principles including equity, equality, non-discrimination, empowerment and participation, accountability, and focus on vulnerable groups

Wefaq is seeking a  Project Manager, Wefaq society for Women and Child Care in partnership with Global Communities implementing USAID Improve Livelihoods and Enhance Economic Development (ILEED). This project will focus on promoting resilient livelihoods in Gaza Strip and give households the tools they need to cope with recurrent crises.  ILEED will engage both the demand and supply actors within the conflict affected market system. Programs and activities will support the production of and access to basic products and services that community entrepreneurs are already engaged in producing and providing, as well as encourage community entrepreneurs to fill critical service gaps with localized solutions. ILEED will also work to increasing access to resources and basic commodities to support community development and resilience

Job Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing ILEED activities to achieve the objectives outlined in the project plan and ILEED annual implementing plan (AIP)

Roles and Key Responsibilities 

Manage overall project activities according to the project timeline, within the project scope, and allocated budget

Prepare and regularly update the project implementation plan

Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of project activities

Guide and supervise project staff to ensure the completion of the tasks and the fulfillment of their responsibilities

Maintain continuous communication with the project team to exchange information and address field challenges

Conduct field visits to targeted areas to monitor the project progress

Manage the project budget in coordination with the finance officer

Supervise the archiving of project documents and reports

Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and represent the project in relevant meetings

Manage the team, assign tasks, monitor achievements, and provide guidance and support for the development of team members' skills and knowledge

Provide daily support, coordination, and guidance to field teams

Coordinate with all organization programs, departments, monitoring, and evaluation within the organization regarding assessments, analysis, procedures, and implementation

Prepare narrative reports on the progress and execution of project activities

Ensure timely submission of narrative reports, verify field reports to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency with internal reporting requirements and donor requirements, and provide feedback to field teams for necessary improvements

Ensure that project results, outputs, and expected results under this position are monitored and fulfilled within the project's time frame

Coordinate with the field team to accurately collect data, compile, and prepare reports/report inputs for key donors regarding activities falling within the position's scope

Summarize and share weekly updates regarding activities with management

Work with relevant partners to ensure effective communication and achievement of goals

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Development, Economics or related field

Minimum of 7 years of work experience in project management, including 3 years in the field of reliance and development communities

Experience in project management related to resilience, livelihoods improvement and development of vulnerable communitie

Knowledge of USAID donor regulations

Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

Professional level in both Arabic and English language skills

Excellent reporting and formal writing skills in both English and Arabic

Advanced computer literacy, advanced use of computer and emailing programs

Creativity and flexibility

High commitment and self-motivation

Ability to work under pressure and within a team
