The Projects Manager will lead and oversee the implementation of the organization’s humanitarian and development projects in Gaza. Objectives:

  • Provide leadership, strategic guidance, and oversight for all projects.
  • Ensure successful project implementation in line with donor requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and institutional partners.
  • Enhance the overall effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of project execution.
  • Support the financial and procurement processes to ensure projects are adequately resourced.
  • Contribute to fundraising efforts through institutional funding, proposal writing, and partnership development

Accountabilities:

Project Leadership and Strategic Management:

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of multiple projects.
  • Lead the coordination between various departments to ensure projects meet organisational goals.
  • Provide strategic direction to Projects Coordinators and ensure alignment with donor requirements.
  • Resolve high-level project challenges and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.

Institutional Funding:

  • Lead the development of project proposals and funding applications for institutional donors.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with institutional donors, ensuring compliance with their reporting and funding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships team to secure long-term funding for key initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Represent AFH in high-level meetings, forums, and networks, including UN cluster meetings.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key partners, including community leaders, NGOs, and government entities.
  • Lead donor communications related to project implementation and progress.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Oversee the monitoring and evaluation framework for projects, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on all aspects of project implementation, including financial performance and impact.
  • Lead the team in implementing improvements and adjustments to optimise project outcomes.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide strong leadership to the Projects Coordinators and Officers, promoting a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Mentor and support team members to develop their skills and ensure high performance.
  • Foster effective communication within the team and with other departments, ensuring information flow and collaboration.

Policy and Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to AFH policies, donor guidelines, and legal requirements in Gaza.
  • Work with the HR and Finance teams to ensure projects are compliant with all organisational and donor policies.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Degree (or equivalent) in relevant field i.e., International Development, International Relations, Public Relations, Economics, Politics, etc.

General Work Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior role within the humanitarian sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing institutional funding and managing donor relationships.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple projects and leading teams in complex environments.

Proven leadership, management, and strategic planning skills.
Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.


Languages:
Strong written and spoken English

Work Environment:

70% office based

30% Field VISITS / events / work trips / meetings etc.,
