Project Manager

ActionAid, an AusAID accredited NGO, are seeking qualified persons to the position of Project Manager for the project entitled “Reaching Beyond the Wall (RBW)”. The post location will be Gaza & is contingent on the awarding of funding by the donor. The estimated project start date is January 2011.
Eligible applicants must have the ability to live and work in Gaza, all interviews will be undertaken in Gaza.
Applicants are required to have the following qualifications and skills:
-University degree in Development Studies/Social Sciences or related field.
-Minimum 3 years experience managing humanitarian and development projects in a complex humanitarian emergency context.
-Strong experience working with partners in a participatory manner and, in particular, empowering partners through shared decision making processes.
-Proven experience leading M&E programmes and an ability to use a variety of approaches and methodologies.
-Strong background supporting the professional development of local organizations and staff. Including provision of training, mentoring and coaching support.
-Strong capacity in financial management.
-Experience monitoring and assessing the impact of livelihoods interventions, particularly microfinance and/or grants programmes.
-Ability to meet deadlines and work within a stressful environment.
-Demonstrated creativity, initiative, resourcefulness and integrity.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-A high level of computer competency (excel, word, email, internet).
-Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic are essential.
