Job Specification
AVSI is recruiting a talented, qualified professional and enthusiastic project manager assistant to be hired in Jerusalem. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the position will involve working to deliver high quality services to schools and contribute to achieving the objective of the project.

Specific duties Assignments and tasks

-Responsible for the coordination and implementation of project activities in and with the schools, budget, and timetable according to the project manager.
-Carry out regular field visits to assess the implementation of different activities and support the Project Manager as per need (field assessment, evaluations, reporting, etc.).
-Assist the Project Manager in daily/weekly work plan and overall management.
-Collect, analyze and report on our project activities to project manager and/or donors.
-Keep and update files (contracts and other documents) of the activities and personnel appointed to the project implementation.
-Collaborate with the Project Manager in writing the activity reports according to donors schedule and requirements.
-Collaborate with the project manager to submit financial reports using authorized and approved accounting system.
-Collaborate with the administration, and logistic & procurement operations in coordination with the project manager. Follow up payments, accountability and administrative procedures in general
-Maintain and build strong relations with the schools participating in the project. Keep good relations with other local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders, partners and sponsors.
-Represent AVSI Palestine at coordination meetings (Clusters, Working Groups) and share with the supervisors the main points of the discussions.
-Be aware of legality and conformity to organizations and donor policies and procedures.
-Communicate effectively AVSIs identity, mission, vision values and its approach in order to work in ways that are contextually appropriate and clear.

Essential Requirement:

-Studies in relevant fields including Education, Social Sciences or related. A Master degree is highly desirable.
-At least 3 years of experience in a Palestinian or international NGO environment, preferably in the education or social sector.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to produce accurate and well-presented written work. Italian is an asset.
-Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Driving license. -Good organizational skills, precision, rapidity, dependability and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
-Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team and to
-interact with diverse stakeholders (especially on institutional or/and private sector). Ability to work independently.
-Previous experience in project cycle management, including development, implementation and monitoring of project goals is a plus.
-Experience in data collection, analysis and reporting are a strong plus.
-Experience using financial or accountancy software and knowledge of double entry accounting is an asset.

Location and Working time
-Jerusalem Old City, with travel as needed throughout the West Bank.
-The working time is from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, from Monday to Friday.
