Project Manager Assistant
Terre des Hommes Italia (TDH IT), member of Terre des hommes International Federation, works in 21 developing countries implementing projects and activities for the benefit of more than 3 million people.
TDH IT implements relief and mid-term programs and projects in the fields of education, primary health, protection, livelihood, PSS and child rights.
In Palestine, Terre des Hommes Italia operates since 2000 with emergency and mid-term interventions supporting the fulfilment of the right to education, protection and health care of the most vulnerable communities living under occupation.
In response to the rapidly increasing needs in Gaza, TDH IT is expanding its emergency response efforts through a project focusing on primary healthcare for 16,800 individuals in the Gaza Strip funded through DRA funds for the Gaza Acute Joint Response. As part of this initiative, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager Assistant within our National office.
The Project Manager Assistant will be selected according to the criteria normally applied by Terre des Hommes Italia and in full compliance with applicable national law and regulations.
Main tasks and responsibilities
The Project Manager Assistant will be an integral part of our staff and will work closely with the Project Manager, providing support to ensure the seamless day-to-day operations of the Ramallah office, coordination with partners, and administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Project Support
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, executing, and monitoring project activities.
- Support in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain project files and ensure they are organized and up-to-date.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, ensuring timely communication and documentation.
Partner Liaison:
- Support communication and coordination with project partner.
- Assist Project Manager and other staff assigned to the project in organizing training and workshops involving external stakeholders.
- Facilitate information exchange and collaboration between partner and the project team.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative assistance to the Project Manager and the Accounting and Reporting Officer.
- Assist TDH IT Logistician in handling logistical arrangements for project events and activities.
- Manage travel arrangements and accommodations as needed.
Others
- Contribute to maintaining the liaison with TDH IT offices in the country;
- Perform any other additional duty that are mutually agreed with the line manager.
Finally, the Project Manager Assistant is responsible, in coordination with the Program Manager, for ensuring the donor, Terre des Hommes and the local partner that:
- TDH IT interventions respect the dignity and autonomy of the people involved;
- TDH IT interventions are in line with TDH IT standards regarding Child Protection and Safeguarding, Ethics, PSEAH, impartiality, neutrality, humanity, and independence of the humanitarian action operating with no discrimination of religious, political and gender nature, and promoting equity, inclusion and a rights-based approach.

Essential requirements
Diploma, Education Level & Minimum Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Project Management, Public Health, International Development)
- Experience in community-based work or work with vulnerable people
- Knowledge of Palestinian or international NGO environment, preferably in the health or social sector.
Required Knowledge & Competencies
- Strong commitment to the aims, principles, and values of TDH IT and of humanitarian aid
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Very high sense of discretion and integrity when dealing with sensitive information
- Excellent organizational skills, precision, rapidity, reliability
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines and manage workload and stress
- Sound oral and written communication skills, including the ability to network and negotiate and to work as part of a team
