Palestine Trade Center- PalTrade signed a three-year project for €3 million funded by the European Union, the project titled: “Unleashing Palestine’s Export Potential to the EU and International Markets”, The project is part of the Team-Europe Initiative to Support the Private Sector Development and Trade in Palestine. The European Union is committed to supporting Palestinians and expanding prospects for stability and prosperity in the area in order to achieve sustainable economy, this investment is a part of such effort. Working within the framework established by PalTrade, the Market Intelligence Hub (MIH) Officer role involves collection and analysis of market & economic data and statistics, and the creation of trade bulletins, market studies and research. This position requires a combination of personal, social, and leadership competencies, in addition to technical and methodological competencies in particular in data analysis, report writing, and the use of MS Office tools and other relevant software tools.
Responsibilities:
The EU MIH Officer will be responsible for the following:
- Collect and provide information about local, regional, and international economic developments, trends, and trade data.
- Collect, identify, organize, retain market intelligence information resources.
- Continuously maintain, update, and capture new information needed to support the Market Intelligence Hub (MIH).
- Capture, organize, and analyze various economic data types and generate conclusions and/or recommendations based on such analysis.
- Produce trade/economic market intelligence, dashboards and bulletins.
- Develop country-specific profiles (for targeted export markets) for the MIH platform.
- Develop companies’ profiles for local and international companies for the MIH platform and ensure constant communication with those companies.
- Perform various tasks needed to assess Palestinian companies’ readiness to export and build their capacity to export to the EU and globally.
- Track and identify trade impediments issues and challenges facing Palestinian exports.
- Become familiar with laws, regulations, and policies related to trade for both the local and targeted export markets.
- Conduct market research and generate market studies with clear conclusions and findings.
- Using a systematic approach, identify target markets for Palestinian products.
- Help identify relevant export opportunities for Palestinian products/companies and identify export markets trends and preferences.
- Track international trade procedures for both import and export operations.
- Respond to information requests from clients and or any of the stakeholders
- Exhibit sound customer service practices and handle all information requests with courtesy and integrity.
- Record and follow up on information requests (i.e. type of information requested, type of client, type of information resources used, etc.).
- Work closely with Pal Trade technical staff, project staff on various tasks and initiatives.

The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience with EU funded projects
- Relevant education and documented work experience for over than 3 years
- Experience in the Palestinian private sector and Palestinian economy
- Excellent communication and networking skills
Essential abilities and qualifications:
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must.
- Experience in market research, data analysis, and economic and trade related studies.
- At least 3 years of experience in data analysis and economic research.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and MS Office tools in general.
- Knowledge of data visualization software(s) and graphics highly desired
- Statistical evaluation, communication, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, computer, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work productively with project staff and steering committee
Additional Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in related project management
- Experience in using export/import related websites such as Trademap.
- Experience in Palestinian Central Bureau for Statistics (PCBS) databases and reports.
- Familiarity in market intelligence subscription-based resources is considered a plus.
