Position Title:  Project Officer: Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC)
Location:Gaza
Reports To: Deputy Head of Office - Programs

BACKGROUND:

Catholic Relief Services is an international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States and has been present in the Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza since 1961. The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of civil society, humanitarian assistance, youth development, education, and peace & justice. JOB SUMMARY:

CRS JWBG is seeking an experienced Project Officer (PO) – Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC). The PO will manage a community based program that empowers Gazan communities to effectively develop resilience through the formation and effective management of savings and internal lending community (SILC) groups that provide essential household level economic safety nets.

The PO will work closely with the local implementing partners to support the implementation of SILC. The PO will be responsible for ensuring high quality implementation of project activities; effective monitoring and evaluation of project outputs and outcomes; supporting quarterly learning/reflection events to address challenges, recognize successes and acknowledge lessons learned in an effort to continuously improve program efficiency, cost effectiveness, service delivery and/or impact; support budget monitoring and management; support quarterly and final reporting; and providing ongoing technical as well as administrative and financial support to the implementing partners and representation of the project to the donor and other local stakeholders.
