CRS is seeking highly qualified candidate for the following position:
Position Title: Project Officer
Reports to: Field Manager
Locations: Gaza
Job Summary:
The Project Officer (PO) will manage the Humanitarian Innovation Fund-supported Gaza Risk Reduction and Mitigation (GRRAM) project. Under the supervision and guidance of the Gaza Field Manager, the PO will be responsible for managing implementation of GRRAM with 2 partners and 200 House Hold in urban, conflict-prone areas. The PO will be liaising with key humanitarian stakeholders; ELRHA (Enhancing Learning and Research for Humanitarian Assistance); ALNAP (The Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action) and UK universities. The PO will also be managing the learning component of the project by documenting best practices and authoring “How-To-Guide on Disaster Risk Reduction Programming in Urban, Conflict-Prone Areas”. The PO will supervise 2 Project Coordinators.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
-University degree in social sciences, community development, communications, business, international development, and/or other related field. Master Degree preferred;
-Minimum of three years work experience in grant management;
-Demonstrated experience in humanitarian assistance (i.e. disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, emergency response) ;
-Previous and/or ongoing academic work.
-Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic;
-Familiar with developing training manual and/or how-to-guides;
-Demonstrated capacities to establish and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with donors, local organizations, communities and other stakeholders;
-Proven ability to develop proposals and write reports meeting donor requirements;
-Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
