Project Officer (PO) Food Production

Catholic Relief Services is an international aid agency and has been present in the Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza for over 60 years. The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of humanitarian assistance, youth development, education, and peace & justice. 
 

Position Title:  Project Officer (PO) – Food Production
Reports to:  Senior Project Officer (SPO)
Supervisory Responsibilities: Food Production Project Coordinators

Job Summary:

The Project Officer (PO) will assume responsibility for working with the local partners in support of the Gaza Emergency and Recovery Project.  Under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Project Officer (SPO) and in close cooperation with other Project Officers working on this project, the (PO) will be responsible for food production component of the sub-grant, including here planning and implementation, timely and accurate reporting to (SPO).  The (PO) will organize the implementation of the food production component of the project, providing technical support to local partners in five Gaza Governorates. 

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

1-Position Requirements and Qualifications HS diploma, University degree preferred; significant comparable work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
2-Minimum of three years work experience in food production, emergency programs or related fields.
3-Demonstrated experience in community mobilization, organization and mediation among local actors.
4-Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and the appropriate local language.
5-Strong cross-cultural skills and experience working with people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
6-Excellent analytic and computer skills; skilled in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access.
