Project/Production Manager

Established in 1893, the YWCA aims at empowering women and improving their status and skills by expanding their options, supporting their economic independence and liberating them from all kinds of oppression, social constraints and injustices that limit their development.

JOB CONTEXT

In 2001, the YWCA of Palestine set up an income-generating project in Jericho with support from local and international donors, targeting unemployed and/or marginalized women living in Jericho, surrounding areas and the Aqbet Jaber refugee camp. Women are trained in food processing
techniques and are employed on a full-time basis in a production unit under the supervision of the YWCA Local Board. The production is then marketed in a YWCA-owned outlet, as well as in some supermarkets in the West Bank. Moreover, the YWCA has just launched a new program in women-led small-scale entrepreneurship development, targeting young and/or marginalized women.

The YWCA-Jericho is now seeking to hire a qualified and motivated person who will oversee the project including (but not restricted to)
-Support the establishment of a new food production facility/facilities in Aqbet Jaber as well as Jericho;
-Develop responsive organizational structure and production plans based on market demand and potentials with the objective of increasing sales and profitability;
-Improve business management systems and controls within the enterprise,
so that it is run based on transparent and good management standards;
-Coordinate the implementation of the newly launched YWCA’s women entrepreneurship development program in Jericho and Ramallah.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Minimum Bachelor degree in business management (or other related field);
-Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in business management, as well as team supervision and guidance; a working experience
in the food industry is a strong asset;
-Knowledge and experience in production and marketing planning;
-Excellent communication skills and team work;
-Ability to set high-level goals and work under pressure;
-Commitment to work towards the promotion of gender equality and other YWCA’s core values.
