Title: Projects Officer.
Job Location: West Bank (Ramallah office).
Starting date: Immediately.

Duration: one year with possibility of extension. 
Reports to: Operation Director.
Directly reporting to this post: Manager of the Humanitarian Projects Department.

Role Summary

The Project Officer, reporting directly to the Manager of the Humanitarian Projects Department, will oversee the efficient execution of humanitarian response and small community initiatives in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, and Jordan. Their responsibilities include coordinating field-based activities, providing technical assistance and training to project teams, and addressing capacity gaps. They will:

  • Contribute to crafting and refining detailed work plans for humanitarian and community projects.
  • Regularly monitor budget utilization and ensure timely reporting.
  • Develop monitoring systems to track project progress and address any obstacles.
  • Document successful strategies and share key insights.
  • Foster positive relationships with local authorities, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the project development team to identify new opportunities and maintain donor visibility.
  • Offer guidance and support to field staff, including the development of standard procedures.
  • Fulfill any other tasks delegated by management.

The Project Officer's role is pivotal in ensuring effective project implementation, stakeholder engagement, and capacity enhancement in the designated regions.

Job Requirements

Knowledge and Experience

  • A relevant academic degree in administration science, social sciences, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant employment experience in project management, including project planning, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively coordinating with multiple partners and stakeholders, including government agencies.
  • Experience in managing projects focused on medical support, or education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated a strong track record of successful program management.
  • Experience providing technical assistance to project staff, and national and government partners on psychosocial support, emergency responses, participation, and education.
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, integrating, and disseminating learnings
  • Previous experience with community-based programming is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading/managing a team.
  • Good understanding of the Palestinian context.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.

Demonstrated experience in delivering integrated marketing communications, ideally for a large global organization.

Candidates must possess the following competencies:

  • University degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum five years experience in a similar field with NGOs and INGOs
  • Proven relevant experience in project implementation in the context of Palestine.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and development standards.
  • Experience in working closely with international and local organizations.
