OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
Under the line management of the Project Manager Rehabilitation, the P&O agent is responsible of:
- Providing quality assessment of P&O devices needs for people with disabilities/people with injuries encountered on the field (camps, communities, medical/paramedical structures, and HI Rehabilitation Centre in Gaza Strip)
- Providing quality P&O services to beneficiaries at Rehabilitation Centre(s) in Gaza
- Ensuring that P&O tools are properly filled and signed by P&O agents, beneficiary and caregiver\
Responsibilities:
- The fabrication of P&O devices (Emergency temporary and definitive Lower Limb prosthesis, Upper Limb Prosthesis and Orthosis)
- Appropriate plan and conduct assessment, measurements, fabrication, trail, fitment and final finishing of P&O devices maintaining the best quality as per the beneficiary need.
- Deliver P&O devices on time as per planned.
- Repair and maintenance of P&O devices as per the individual need.
- Maintain individual file for each beneficiary receiving P&O devices and carry out regular follow up
- The provision of information, advices to the beneficiaries and the caregivers
- Provide proper information and advices to the beneficiary and his/her caregiver regarding the use, care and maintenance of prosthesis.
- External and internal referrals
- Provide adequate information for the Project Officer to be able to manage tailored external referrals in close collaboration with other rehabilitation or P&O stakeholders.
- Activity reporting
- Prepare the technical weekly/monthly report and such as prosthesis delivery records, materials stock, and other necessary information, and provide to the P&O Officer and the Project Officer.
- Update periodically to the rehab team about his/her activity, in order to update the Health Activity Tracking.
- Participate in weekly action plan meetings.
- Provide and send videos and pictures of each beneficiary fitted according to the guidelines.
- Quality of care and technical skills and knowledge
- Identify and prioritise his/her own training needs.
- Willing to learn about new technology.
- Participate to training sessions (theoretical, practical, study cases…).
- Participate to technical meeting with the P&O Officer and Project Officer once in a week.
- Hygiene and security
- Follow basic hygiene rules.
- Follow the safety rules of the workshop while working in workshop.
- Maintain the workplace, storeroom, tools and machineries clean and tidy.
- Observe at all times strict commitment to HI Security & Safety regulations as per procedures in place at mission level.
- Support in internal information dissemination to relevant focal people at mission level aiming at reinforcing security and safety of HI staff and assets.
- Ethics
- Maintain a professional conduct at all times.
- Report any incident or act that causes any harm to the beneficiary or to others.
- Among others, he/she respects patient’s privacy and confidentiality (he/she only shares medical information with medical staff/people directly involved in patient’s care)
- Any other duty at the service of the project and the organisation, as requested by project.

Professional skills
- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or Health Worker, Nurse
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in disability/ rehabilitation field, emergency or/ and development context
- Ability to work with partners, civil society organizations, or public authorities
- Skills in users centered approach and center-based rehabilitation
- Knowledge of referral mechanisms
- Ability to respect deadlines and work under pressure
- Very positive personality, with strong orientation toward solutions
- Adaptability, flexibility
- Autonomy in work
Cross-cutting skills
- Experience with HI and/or knowledge of its fields of action and approaches is considered an asset
- Experience in working with vulnerable groups
- Fluent in English
