2. Context
Relief International (RI) is an international non-profit organization that partners with communities impacted by conflict, climate change and disaster to save lives, build greater resilience and promote long-term health and wellbeing.
Our team of more than 7,000 staff and local volunteers work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, providing Health and Nutrition, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Education and Livelihoods programming that creates the foundation for community resilience.
We do this by working with local actors to develop safe and inclusive local programming that is evidence based, conflict sensitive, climate smart, and reaches those in need.
Relief International is an alliance of four organizations with one shared mission, comprised of Relief International, Inc., Relief International-France, Relief International-UK and Relief International-Europe, which operate under a one-team concept under a single senior leadership team.
3. Job Profile
Under close supervision from the Protection Officer, PSS Workers will be responsible for the implementation of PSS activities including group and individual sessions at and in the catchment area of the WGRS. The PSS Workers will also animate psychoeducation and outreach sessions to ensure full engagement of the target group.
4. Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks
- Conduct individual PSS sessions under the supervision of the Protection Officer.
- Perform intake and post-session assessments for all PSS beneficiaries to track progress and ensure effective support.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to ensure smooth operations of PSS activities in various settings.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of mental health and psychosocial support services within the community.
- Work closely with Facilitators and Case Managers to ensure coordinated approach to activity implementation through the WGRS.
- Raise awareness among beneficiaries about available mental health and protection services.
- Engage in referral process (internal and external) per protocols in place.
- Assist in collecting and organizing data on daily PSS activities from outreach locations and within WGRS.

Job Requirements
Person Specification
Skills, knowledge and expertise required for the role.
Essential criteria
- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology and/or other similar field.
- Previous experience in organizing and implementing PSS activities.
- Knowledge and skills in women rights, child protection, youth/community resilience, psychosocial support and experience working with at-risk women and children.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues.
- Ability to compassionately deal with individuals in distress and maintain respect for all people encountered while on the job (beneficiaries and colleagues).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours as needed.
Desirable criteria
- Familiarity with IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings.
- Understand the humanitarian work done by organization.
- English language (Arabic required).
