Position: Protection Mainstreaming Officer 

Reporting into: Head of Protection 

Type: Full-time, 35 hours per week 

Location: South of Gaza, Palestine 

Salary: ILS107,700

With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. MAP is seeking a Protection Mainstreaming Officer to support the implementation of protection mainstreaming activities under the supervision of the Head of Protection. The successful candidate will ensure that protection principles are integrated across all of MAP Gaza’s health, nutrition, WASH, and protection programmes. This role requires the ability to adapt programming to changing circumstances and coordinate closely with implementing staff and partners across various thematic areas. 

Responsibilities include developing effective training materials, organising and delivering training sessions and workshops, and creating and implementing protection mainstreaming action plans and tools. The officer will undertake regular monitoring and evaluation of mainstreaming efforts, support evidence-based analysis of protection risks, and provide protection-related inputs to concept notes, proposals, grant agreements, and reports. Additionally, the candidate will oversee protection mainstreaming activities, ensure alignment with agreed standards, and support partners in identifying training needs and co-designing appropriate training sessions.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in social science/humanities or a relevant field, and at least three years of experience leading protection mainstreaming activities. The candidate should have experience in developing and delivering high-quality protection training, working with ministries and local organizations, and multi-sectoral programming, particularly in health. Essential skills include strong knowledge of protection principles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluency in English and Arabic, advanced computer skills, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
