RFP: Provision of Training – Construction Foremen

Mercy Corps is seeking to hire a training provider to deliver a Specialized Foreman Training course to 25 unemployed and/or informally employed individuals from the Gaza Strip.

Background:

Mercy Corps is implementing economic recovery focused interventions under the broader Palestinian Community Assistance Program (PCAP) funded by USAID.  PCAP’s economic recovery efforts support the workforce development in several industrial and business sectors, including construction.

Recognizing that the construction industry is one of the few sectors with of Gaza’s economy with the potential to grow and create employment, Mercy Corps has been implementing targeted workforce capacity development interventions, in cooperation with the Palestinian Contractors Union (PCU).

Based on a skill gap identified through direct observation and discussions with the PCU and its members, Mercy Corps has designed a project that will provide 25 unemployed or informally employed individuals with prior experience in construction work with a training that will prepare them to work as foremen on construction sites and projects. Upon the completion of the training course, the trainees will acquire the essential technical and soft/management skills required to work in this profession. 

The training materials, including trainee and trainers manuals, have been prepared and the beneficiary selection has been completed.

This RFP seeks proposals from qualified training providers to deliver the foreman training course.

Interested service providers can receive the Request for Proposal (RFP) from Thursday, June 12th, 2014 till Thursday, June 19th, 2014 12:00 PM from the Mercy Corps offices in Gaza.

Bids must be submitted in hard copies in sealed envelopes and must be delivered to the above mentioned address no later than Wednesday June 25th, 2014 03:00 PM

A Pre bid-meeting will take place on Thursday, June 19th, 2014 12:00 PM at Mercy Corps Office.
