MSFF is looking for its office/ project a : PSU Staff PSYCHOLOGIST
Workplace : GAZA STRIP
Type of contract : Fixed term contract
Start date : As soon as possible
Main purpose of the position
Providing psychological support to staff according to MSF principles, standards and procedures. The primary role will be to provide individual support to staff as well as facilitate stress reduction workshops for staff and their families. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with individuals affected by conflict, possess a deep understanding of trauma, and have the ability to create a supportive environment for people in high-stress settings.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out psychoeducation sessions to raise awareness amongst staff about mental health and well-being in their professional and personal life addressing issues common in high-risk settings such as burnout, anxiety, and stress-related symptoms.
- Leading self-care workshops aimed at stress reduction, emotional resilience, and well-being for MSF staff, including both medical and non-medical personnel.
- Providing individual and group psychosocial support to staff according to MSF protocols to improve their well-being and stress related symptoms.
- Ability to travel and provide individual support and workshops within the Gaza strip.
- Referring staff to other professionals when needed: staff health, GP, and psychiatrist.
- Ensuring that all staff information is kept confidential.
- Collecting and monitoring data about individual and group activities and reporting to PSU referent/PC/MTL.
- Share global issues of the staff needing attention with PSU referent/Rahma/MTL.
- Ensure all workshops and counseling sessions are conducted with a trauma-informed approach, ensuring sensitivity and safety for participants, and in line with MSF’s ethical standards and local regulations.
- Ability to work under high-pressure conditions, maintain a calm demeanor, and be adaptable to shifting needs and circumstances.
Due to exposure to personal situations with which the psychologist her/himself is confronted; he/she will be able to identify these cases and refer them too the Psychologist in remote.

Requirements
- Education: Master or Doctorate in clinical in Psychology (5 years)
- Experience: Essential 3 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist
Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries
- Languages Mandatory: Fluency in Arabic and English
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and emotional resilience in high-stress environments.
Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the dynamics in conflict regions.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge: Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
