THE JOB
Under the direct supervision and responsibility of the Rehabilitation Projects Coordinator, the Psycho-social Support Supervisor will be responsible for the implementation of psycho-social support services and activities  of HI & partners’ organizations intervention within “Post-emergency intervention to provide essential multi-disciplinary rehabilitation services to the most vulnerable women, men and children in Gaza “project implemented by Handicap International and partner organizations and funded by DFATD.

The action: Through the project “Post-emergency intervention to provide essential multi-disciplinary rehabilitation services to the most vulnerable women, men and children in Gaza .”, HI has for global objective that affected persons with injuries and persons with disabilities during the last crisis will have access to post emergency multidisciplinary quality rehabilitation services , as well to ensure HI  and partners have updated their emergency response plan to meet the needs of vulnerable groups and based on the lessons learnt from the response launched last summer.
    
HI and in partnership with four partners across the Gaza Strip five governorates (Baitona Society, PACF, NSR, SPHP) will work together within this project in order to:
-Reinforce of partners’ capacity to meet quality criteria
-Provide home-based functional rehabilitation & psycho-social support services to PwIs and PwDs as per their individual identified needs
-Train families of PWIs and PWDs on basic home based rehabilitation and follow up exercises
-Procure specific assistive devices and distribution to PWIs and PWDs
-Provide ongoing technical support and trainings to partners' outreach teams
-Identify and provide of support to PWIs for home accessibility adjustments
-Identify the lessons learnt from the emergency response with key stakeholders
-Mobilize DPO leaders and build their capacity to join information and capacity building towards humanitarian actors on disability inclusion
-Develop a training manual to include PWDs needs and demands into recovery effort
-Provide disability inclusion information and induction training to humanitarian workers
-Provision of ad-hoc support upon request to humanitarian actors to mainstream disability into their recovery response


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Projects Coordinator, the Psycho-Social Support Supervisor will contribute to implementing the activities as defined within the HI project action plan. He/She will tackle the following responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITY 1:

Provide TECHNICAL support to the PARTNERS’ psychologists to conduct indIvIdual and Group sessions ADDRESSING PwDs/PwIs and their FAMILIES DEALING with adverse CIRCUMSTANCEs/ PTSD.
-Provide technical support and follow up to partners’ psychologists in order to reinforce their capacities in terms of KAP related to psycho-social distress for PwDs, PwIs and their families dealing with adverse circumstances  and the provision of PTSD intervention support activities.
-Assist the project team in developing strategies to ensure that outreach teams are promoting a holistic approach when working with PwDs, PwIs and their families
-Design a manual for psycho-social support group and individual sessions to support field psychologists.
-Conduct training to partners’ psychologists on the manual and identification & intervention mechanisms
-Provide on the job support to the partners’ psychologists to effectively use the comprehensive PSS manual, including psychological tools, methodologies, and exercises and study cases, to serve as reference for individual and group therapy sessions.
-Ensure on the job supportive supervision & coaching to the psychologists of partners’ teams on a weekly basis.
-Provide support to the partners’ psychologists to identify PwDs and PwIs dealing with adverse circumstances, by recognizing the signs of psycho social distress, trauma and PTSD.
-Provide expertise and guidance to partners’ psychologists in defining and establishing diagnosis, and treatment plan.
-Provide support to the psychologists to develop specific monitoring tools and assessment tools, related to PTSD prevention & interventions, stress reduction measurement tools, and others according to the activities and indicators identified within the project.
-Provide support to the psychologists to develop and ensure case supervision/ case study mechanisms.
-Provide support to the psychologists to implement a range of identified specialized evidence-based psychological interventions, including trauma resiliency based approach, for CwD’s and their families.
-Identify clinical support potential beneficiaries and refer to other service providers.
-Ensure that the interventions of the psychologists of partners’ teams are in line with HI quality criteria standards and principles.


RESPONSIBILITY 2:

Reporting:
-Reporting on psychological support activities
-Reporting on monitoring tools applied with beneficiaries of psychological support sessions ( pre and post services tests)
-On a weekly basis, report on follow up and monitoring visits to the partner’s psychologists in the field.
-Reports on supportive supervision to the partners’ psychologists monitoring sessions, promoting the use of the tools pre-defined
-Final report on psychological support services to both PwIs and PwDs in the 5 target governorates to the Project Officer.
-Use various communication means (written, spoken, etc) during activities to ensure effective inclusion of all participants
-Maintain a positive image of Handicap International and the partner organizations at all times and in all circumstances.


JOB requirements:     
-The position is based in Gaza with field supervision tasks to partners’ teams across the Gaza Strip.  
-Ability to work under pressure in an unstable and changing environment.
-Flexibility, ability to take initiative.
-Good organizational skills/ Proactive.
-Excellent communication skills.
-High Level Written and verbal skills.
-Ability to work in a team
-Ability to transfer knowledge, train people, act as a coach.

Technical skills:
-Fluent both written and spoken English and Arabic
-Excellent report writing skills in English and Arabic
-Computer skills (word, excel, power point, access)
-Excellent team player / leader

-Strong observational skills
-Proved advanced capacity in coaching / supervison skills


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
-At least 5 years professional experience working in the psycho-social support and on the job supervision field, of which 3 years at least working with an International Organization.
-At least a bachelor degree in psychology
-On the job supervision of psycho-social workers previous experience preferable for last 2 years.
-Professional and very positive interpersonal attitude.
