1-Background:
Palestinian physiotherapy association – PPTA is a local Palestinian non-profit NGO established in 1994 in two main centers at Jerusalem and Gaza strip.
PPTA consider itself as a representative for the physiotherapy profession and its workers in Palestine, where it aims to contribute in raising up this profession professionally and technically at places where the physiotherapy service is provided, on the other hand, PPTA works to advocate for it beneficiaries rights at many levels.
However, PPTA believes in the right of people with disability to participate effectively in the community, therefore, PPTA considers part of its activities to strength inclusion of people with disability among local community through it community services program.
PPTA is now implementing a project titled by “Rehabilitation of Gaza injured people”, where the objective of that project is to contribute in urgent rehabilitation to July – August 2014 injured persons in Gaza strip, and its expected to deliver the following as outcomes:
1-The project has minimizes anticipated post injury complications (level of dependency, wounds infections and post-traumatic stress disorder)
2-Beneficiaries have applied newly gained knowledge and skills, which they received from the PPTA activities.
2-ToR Purpose:
The ToR is intended to call for training consultancy to prepare and conduct introductory course on Psychological First Aid (PFA) to 60 physiotherapist.
3-Training outcomes:
Based on best practices, the training consultancy focus on acquaint selected 60 physiotherapy professionals whom are working with people affected by the recent war against Gaza by basic knowledge and techniques of PFA, those 60 professionals will be divided into 3 training groups, the training consultancy is expected to achieve the following training outcomes for each group:
a)Participants are aware on how crisis is affecting people psychologically.
b)Participants has good understanding of PFA concept, and its potential beneficiaries.
c)Participants has good background on PFA provision strategies.
d)Participants have learned effective communications skills with people with distress.
e)Participants have basic knowledge and skills to practice the PFA on target beneficiaries.
f)Participants has common understanding on Stress management techniques.
4-Training Methodology:
-The facilitator will be required to use simple and understandable training techniques and/or methodologies that can easily be understood by the participants.
-Participatory training will stimulate learning and facilitate discussion. Relevant case analysis, lectures, and presentations will be the main training methodologies in addition to case studies.
-The training will be undertaken in one place with 3 workshops lasting nine (9) days, (3 days for each Course, 6 Hrs. per training day).
5-Trainer responsibility and deliverables:
a)The consultant will have the responsibility to prepare, implement and evaluate the trainings as per intended outcomes mentioned in the ToR.
b)The consultant will indicate a training plan and schedule, the resources/materials needed, and topics intended for the training, as required by PPTA to achieve the training objectives as specified in the TOR.
c)By end of the training, the consultant will develop a simple PFA manual to be used by trainees in their work field.
d)By end of the training, the consultant should submit a training report for consultancy services completed.
6-Trainer Qualification:
-At least 5 years of Proven experience at Psychological scope.
-At least Proven experience of conducting 100 training Hrs.
-Strong English reporting skills.
-Training Experience at least 50 training hours
7-Submission of Proposal
Qualified and interested consultants are required to submit a detailed proposal with the following components:
1-Technical proposal that will include:
-the consultant’s understanding of the ToR,
-a detailed methodology on how the assignment will be conducted, and,
-a clear and comprehensive work plan outlining the major activities and implementation time schedule, among other relevant information.
2-Financial proposal based on training Hour cost in New Israeli shekels - ILS as follow:
3-Firm/individual capacity statement, past experience, and activities related to PFA
4-Curriculum vitae for the consultant(s.
8-Payment
a)Payment terms and conditions that be agreed upon in the contract to be signed between PPTA and the selected consultant.
b)Payment will be within one month after receiving completed deliverables.
c)Prices include all relevant taxes and all other preparatory works, the offered price covers the whole consultancy fees.
9-Deadline:
-Interested Consultants/firms are invited to submit their proposals no later 19th April 2015 to PPTA office at AlShefaa Street in front of UNRWA Schools, Next to the Turkish cultural center – Rimal - Gaza, PPTA will no consider any delayed proposals.
-Proposal through e-mails will not be considered.
