CONTEXT AND BACKGROUND
Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help with respect to cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender. SIF Palestine Mission was established in 2008 and since then, it has set up many concrete activities in order to help in a large scale and developed a comprehensive knowledge of the local context and understanding of local needs.
ROLE IN THE ORGANIZATION
SIF performs an orphan care and protection program, which mainly aims to improve the access of orphans to the various protection services represented in paying financial guarantee and receiving social psychological support, individual psychological counseling, education and health services and others.
The Psychosocial Worker, under the supervision of an official Protection and Orphans Welfare Program Manager, is responsible for providing social psychological support, individual psychological counseling, education and health services, and others with the aim of contributing to the child's access to the orphan on his basic rights, and will cooperate with SIF team in performing the following tasks:
Social Research:
- Collecting data for new registered orphaned children and ensuring the authenticity of supportive documents.
- Contributing to the selection of newly registered orphan children to integrate them into the Protection and Orphans Welfare and Program.
- Providing feedback to new registrants regarding admission to the program or rejection.
- Implementing home field visits to children for new registered orphans to submit a total report on their priority to entering orphaned children's care and protection program.
- Defining the families of the sponsored orphaned children with the aim of the project and its activities and the conditions necessary for admission to the program of caring for and protecting orphaned children and signing the sponsorship agreement with them.
- Implementing home field visits to children for the guaranteed orphans in the purpose of collecting the necessary and updated information that includes all variables in the life of the child/orphan and documenting them in the annual follow -up report and participation in the distribution of sponsorship and follow -up of its use in meeting the basic needs of the child/orphan such as food and needs Health and buying clothes and education costs such as paying tuition fees, buying school uniforms and strengthening lessons.
- Connecting the guardians of orphans registered with SIF activities and projects that can benefit the orphan child and his family.
- Contributing to the development of orphan children's database and creating a profile for each by a shared computer file and computerized system (image, kinship, family environment and education).
- Determining the child's social and psychological needs and protection, education and others, setting priorities and preparing a plan for the child and his family/her/her to meet these needs (information, referral to other services, etc.), in addition to support and follow -up to its implementation.
- Continuous provision of status management requirements, including home visits, documentation, entry/data modification, referral files and completing social research reports, including rejected, acceptable and closed cases.
- Providing advice and advice to orphaned children and their families "if necessary" regarding any social and economic interests they have and providing appropriate advice for specialized services in various institutions with regular follow -up of the status developments.
- Establishing working relations at the societal level, in its region/ provinces with the available resources, cooperating institutions, social service centers and psychological counseling, colleges/ training centers/ vocational training centers/ employment, and benefiting from their services to improve the social and economic situation of orphans.
- Providing support and follow up for orphans or guardians in economic generating micro projects when requested.
- Providing support and follow-up for orphans or guardians in training or workplaces if requested.
- Participation, as needed, in workshops and meetings that aim to improve professional knowledge and skills related to their field of work and exchange with other colleagues of social psychologists.
- Continuous updating for status management requirements, including home visits, documentation and entry/modification
- Data and referral files and completing social research reports, including rejected, acceptable and closed cases.
- Providing advice and advice to orphaned children and their families "if necessary" regarding any social and economic interests they have and providing appropriate advice for specialized services in various institutions with regular follow -up of the status developments.

- Participation, as needed, in workshops and meetings that aim to improve professional knowledge and skills related to their field of work and exchange with other colleagues of social psychologists.
- Participation, as needed, in SIF staff or Protection Program staff awareness raising, debriefing.
Provide individual psychological counseling service:
- Conducting an initial evaluation of orphan children and applying tests, psychological standards and the necessary tools with the cases that are being worked with,
- Providing individual consultations for orphaned children and their guardians.
- Opening a file for psychological consultations and cases, develop the necessary therapeutic plans and follow up with the relevant people,
- Holding psychological-social awareness sessions for the targeted groups within the family if necessary and regular field visits whenever the need and interference with cases,
- Writing success stories and documenting and following up to orphan children,
- Filling out and use case management models and reports, if necessary,
- Referral of the cases discovered according to the unified operating procedures- the referral path to protect the child and transfer cases within the referral course used for service providers according to the case needs,
- Preparing reports of transformed cases for external services providers and monitoring them regularly,
- Conducting individual/family interviews to recommend interventions based on a specific intervention plan designed and closely monitoring the progress of the targeted orphan children and their families "if necessary";
- Participating in interference in crises and/ or emergency psychological and social activities, as determined by the direct official.
Providing collective psychological support:
- Participating in the implementation of collective activities on the protection of the orphan/psychological and social support for orphans, their families and the relevant from society, according to the minimum standards for the protection of the child,
- Organizing social, cultural and entertainment activities for orphans,
- Holding awareness raising/educational sessions with guardians and orphans (on education, protection, health),
- Discovering cases that need individual psychological services and providing psychological intervention as needed,
- Providing family counseling services for orphans and their families with the aim of helping the child and his family in solving their family problems and achieving good psychological adaptation,
- Encouraging the creation of supportive and solidarity networks for the sponsored or guardians of orphans,
- Facilitating/ implementing support sessions with guardians on orphan care.
- Providing and implementing PFA sessions for orphan’s caregivers, community and services providers.
Administrative tasks/ other:
- Supporting Program manager in reports preparation,
- Preparing field reports and office activities reports after each activity,
- Preparing the required monthly and periodic report,
- Supporting team in data entry on a computerized system,
- Ensuring that the data needed to enrich the indicators related to the characteristics/traits of the registered orphaned children regarding the development of their situation through the orphan care and protection program,
- Periodic networking with relevant institutions (schools, government institutions, non -governmental institutions, other actors) to meet the needs of orphans targeted in the program,
- Teamwork, participating in meetings and setting work plans,
- Managing and archiving collective psychological interventions and keeping them in a safe place,
- Participating in capacity-building activities, training and exchanging experiences on best practices,
- Contributing through the periodic monitoring of the sponsored orphaned children in cooperation with the follow-up and evaluation team in analyzing these collected data on the status of orphans and their families and monitoring indicators of the orphan care and protection program, especially the results and indicators of impact,
- Any other tasks that you may be assigned to.

Qualifications and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in psychological counseling, psychology, social service, or a related field,
- 3 years’ experience in the field of psychological support, social research and field work, it is preferable to be at least a year with international institutions,
- Proven skill of providing individual and family counseling services, it is preferable that the applicant has received specialized training in family counseling
- Good writing skills and time management skills,
- The ability to work within a team, tolerate work pressure, and the possibility of delay after the official working hours,
- Good skills in coordination, communication and networking with all parties concerned,
- The ability to establish effective business relationships and deal with people of all,
- Very good skills in the computer and Microsoft (especially Word and Excel),
- Very good in English language.
Personal Qualities:
Modest and open, initiative and the ability to suggest and express opinions, a sense of responsibilities, teamwork, and a good listener.
