Background
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) re-established its presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt) in January 2009 and is mainly developing programme activities in the sectors of shelter, education, food distribution and the provision of information, counselling and legal assistance (ICLA). The long term objective of the programme is to contribute to improved protection and living conditions for refugees and internally displaced persons in the oPt.
NRC requires a Receptionist who will assist the administration department welcoming visitors in NRC and assisting the Administration in day-to-day activities under the supervision of the HR/Admin Manager.
As employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council the Receptionist is expected to welcoming guest of NRC in a friendly and responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.
Overall responsibility:
The Receptionist is responsible for all reception duties at the NRC Country Office in Jerusalem and assisting the HR/Admin Manager with daily tasks.
Main Duties:
-Responsible for all reception duties related to NRC Country Offices, including welcome visitors; opening the door and answering phone and taking messages;
-Ensure that all visitors are registered;
-Prepare attendance sheets for all staff in Jerusalem office, and ensure that all staff are registered when they arrive in the Morning and when they leave in the afternoon;
-Responsible for keeping the reception area tidy and welcoming;
-Responsible for receiving the mobile phone and distribution them to staff and calculate staff payments for private calls;
-Responsible for taking bookings for the meeting room and ensuring that it is kept in order;
-Provide administration cover and support to other NRC departments if requested;
-Work closely with the other staff and ensure good team work and spirit;
-Responsible for photocopying, scanning, and archiving documents in the file systems for the Administration Department.
-Carry out other relevant administrative duties as requested by the supervisor.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
-Diploma degree or other relevant education
-Minimum 2 years of experience in administrative office.
-Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
-Strong organisational skills.
-Pleasant personality and teamplayer
-Excellent command of English, Arabic and Hebrew both written and orally.
-Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel).
-Preferable Jerusalem Residence ID.

Contract period: One Year, with possible extension
