Job Summary:
Fall 2021 marking its thirteenth year of operation, Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences (AQB) is an innovative program introducing a liberal arts undergraduate education to the West Bank. AQB is the only liberal arts college in the Middle East that offers dual degrees with an institution in the US. Graduates of AQB earn a degree from Al Quds University and from Bard College (in New York). AQB is different from other universities and colleges in Palestine in that it creates student-centered learning environments that foster critical thinking, center writing, and promote the holistic development of students. In addition, AQB grants generous scholarships (full and partial) for its students, many of whom get the chance to study abroad at Bard College in NY and other partner campuses in Europe and the United States.
AQB, at Al-Quds University, is seeking a qualified and creative candidate to serve as a part-time Recruitment Fellow in East Jerusalem. He/she will implement the recruitment process in Jerusalem. The Recruitment Fellow is responsible for co-planning, co-strategizing, and implementing school visits and events to promote AQB in the schools of Jerusalem, under the supervision of the AQB Communication and Recruitment Office. Mainly, the Fellow will concentrate on recruiting students for AQB novel Digital Communication Program, while keeping in mind that necessity to recruit to the other programs at AQB.
Responsibilities:
- Co-designing and implementing a strategy for recruitment in Jerusalem for the spring semester 2022.
- Implementing a wide media campaign to spread the word about AQB in the targeted areas and schools.
- School visits and holding Zoom Info sessions for schools in Jerusalem during spring 2022.
- Distributing recruitment materials in Jerusalem schools.
- Documentation and archiving the materials used.
- Consistent reporting, coordinating, and communicating with the AQB Communication officer.
- Communicating with the Jerusalem Ministry of Education Public Relation office on some of the recruitment activities.
- Conducting 20-25 working hours weekly.
- Brainstorming and generating new ideas and creative solutions to share with the team.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:
- Jerusalem Resident, or can easily commute to Jerusalem.
- B.A Degree in Communications, Media, Journalism, Literature, or other related fields.
- Great communication and presentation skills in English and Arabic.
- Photography and graphic design skills. (preferred)
- Knowledge of the special situation of Palestinian education in Jerusalem.
- One year of work experience; preferred, but not required.
