Overview:
National Democratic Institute - NDI is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-governmental organization that works in partnership around the world to strengthen and safeguard democratic institutions, processes, norms and values to secure a better quality of life for all. NDI envisions a world where democracy and freedom prevail, with dignity for all.
NDI has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1994, working with Palestinian political parties, civil society organizations, activists, universities, and youth on a variety of issues including advocacy campaigns, message development, political outreach, and the inclusion of women and youth in the political process and decision-making.
NDI West Bank & Gaza is seeking a full time Regional Coordinator to work closely with the Program Officer under the supervision of the Program Manager to support its programs. The Regional Coordinator will play an integral role in the NDI programs’ activities across West Bank and Jerusalem. He/She must be able to travel regularly within the West Bank/Jerusalem as needed.
The Regional Coordinator’s general responsibilities will include local stakeholder outreach, assisting project participants to develop and carry out action plans, and supporting NDI research activities. Therefore, the Regional Coordinator will work with NDI staff to establish timelines for the estimated completion of key milestones and provide updates to NDI on a daily, and weekly basis describing progress and results.
Responsibilities:
A- BUILDING LOCAL NETWORKS
1- Identify local stakeholders and influencers to form local partner networks and proactive task force.
2- Conduct an assessment of the current local environment to determine gaps and priorities for NDI’s activities in the region.
3- Identify local marginalized groups that may be at risk to exploitation of tensions and incorporate them in to NDI’s activities.
4- Contribute outreach by sharing insights with local stakeholders, partners, and other interested parties.
5- Reporting and Documentation: maintain comprehensive records, and produce regular reports and updates on the activities and their impact.
B- PARTICIPANT ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
1- Relationship Building: Build and maintain trust-based relationships with the NDI programs, including beneficiaries and stakeholders.
2- Needs Assessment: Lead individual and group assessments to understand participants' unique needs, aspirations, and challenges.
3- Mentoring: Oversee the provision of one-on-one mentoring to empower individuals to unlock their full potential, offering guidance and support as needed.
4- Facilitation Delivery: Guide the conduct of sessions, workshops, and activities, both directly and through online.
5- Empowerment: Manage the active engagement of participants to partake in their personal and professional development actively, and self-confidence.
6- Conflict Resolution: Act as a mediator or facilitator in case of challenges within the programs, promoting a constructive and harmonious environment.
7- Universities Emphasis: Engage with University Pioneers, tailoring capacity-building efforts to their unique requirements and aspirations.
C- SUSTAINABLE CHANGE RESPONSIBILITES
1- Methodology Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of capacity-building methodologies, drawing on leading practices to drive sustainable change within the community.
2- Community Impact: Ensure that capacity-building efforts positively impact individuals and organizations, contributing to community development.
3- Sustainability Planning: Work with beneficiaries and stakeholders to develop strategies for maintaining the positive changes achieved through capacity building.
4- Advocacy and Awareness: Collaborate with the NDI WBG staff to strengthen public awareness and advocacy efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
1- BA's degree (at least) in a relevant field.
2- Minimum of 3 years of experience in capacity-building roles, preferably in international development projects.
3- At least 3 years of management/supervisory experience is required.
4- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
5- Proficiency in project management and budgeting.
6- Able to work remotely from the rest of the team
7- Willing to travel within the region regularly and elsewhere as needed
8- Knowledge of the specific context and challenges in the West Bank and Gaza.
9- Demonstrated ability to articulate and present technical information clearly and effectively.
10- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, CSO partners, and universities.
11- Languages: Full Professional Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic are required.
