Regional Planning Coordinator
Job Description
CHF International is implementing a five-year, Community Infrastructure Development (CID) program in the West Bank with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). This program aims to improve the quality of life for Palestinians in vulnerable communities through provision of multi-sectoral infrastructure and a wide-range of capacity building initiatives. To support the implementation of this program, CHF International and partners are seeking qualified candidates to assume the following positions, on renewable yearly contracts:
Regional Planning Coordinator, Southern West Bank -
Location: Hebron Office
Responsibilities:
The Regional Planning Coordinator will ensure participatory community and stakeholder participation in design and implementation of infrastructure projects, ensuring outreach to a broad range of stakeholder groups. S/he will organize community workshops and planning processes, and will lead project planning at the local and regional levels. The Regional Planning Coordinator will also be responsible for regional-level reporting and monitoring and evaluation activities, and will support public outreach initiatives. S/he will be the main focal point for regional and local coordination of program activities.
Key qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in international development, engineering, or related field, master’s degree preferred; a minimum of five years experience doing community planning and development work in the West Bank/Gaza, preferably with an international development organization; prior work experience conducting participatory planning workshops, and facilitation skills; excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with donor, government and community representatives and other stakeholders, and staff at all levels; good organizational skills; ability to work well within a team; and fluency or advanced skills in written and spoken Arabic and English.
