Mercy Corps is looking for Consultancy firm to Service to develop NASP and ALE Manuals and Deliver Trainings for Field Staff in Gaza Strip.
Background:
Mercy Corps is a non-profit, non-governmental international humanitarian and development organization, registered in the United States and Scotland with offices in more than 40 countries around the world, including the West Bank and Gaza, where the organization has been active in implementing relief and development programs for over a decade. Mercy Corps ‘West Bank and Gaza’ has staff based in East Jerusalem and Gaza City offices that implement programs throughout the Palestinian territories.
Mercy Corps (MC) is implementing three years Education Program under the broader PCAP program funded by USAID. Through the PCAP program, MC is running the third year Education Program that aims to “enhance formal and non-formal education for children and youth through tutoring programs, provision of materials and other assistance”. The intervention targets the student with low academic achievement in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades through “Neighborhood after School Program-NASP” by providing tutoring in Arabic, English and Math. Another component of the Education Program targets the gifted students who can benefit from supplemental educational activities, through the “Accelerated Learning for Excellence Program –ALE”. Under ALE program, talented students of 7th, 8th, and 9th grades receive advanced trainings covering the topics of English, leadership and computer literacy to improve their skills and encourage hope for the future.
In this third year of PCAP-Education Program, Mercy Corps will target about 2,700 students in both program components during the current scholastic year of 2012-2013.
Purpose:
For specific purpose of this program, Mercy Corps seeks consultant firm conduct a short-term assignment to deliver the following activities:
1-Review and develop/modify relevant manuals for both program components: the Neighborhood after School Program (NASP) and Accelerated Learning for Excellence (ALE).
2-Furthermore, to conduct trainings for CBO tutors and all program staff to ensure they will be able to use the newly developed materials during the NASP and ALE sessions.
3-Finally, conduct follow up monitoring visits to the field at CBO premises to provide quality control of education sessions organized, and any relevant educational mentoring.
Target Group:
-Tutors in different subjects for NASP& ALE Training.
-Low academic achievement in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades through NASP Program for monitoring field visits.

Mercy Corps will conduct a pre bid meeting on 18 September at 1:30 pm at Mercy Corps office illustrated above to respond to the vendor’s questions and to clarify the submission conditions required for this TOR.
